Homo is the genre and Homo Sapiens is the species, but race is not a biological parameter of classification. There is not a scientific classification of human races that it's approved by the scientific community.
If we base on the most famous race classification from the anthropologist Carleton Coon (you can look for it on wikipedia if you want to see it), we have to say that there are 5 races: Caucasoid, Congoid, Capoid, Mongoloid, Australoid, but at least for me to think of all American (both North and South) people as Mongoloid is ridiculous.
I really prefer to think that all men are the same. 🙂

I think it's hard to compare 'intelligence' exactly with my friends because there is no underlying factor to what you determine by being 'intelligent'...If you mean by one's capacity for learning/understanding, I don't think school grades alone can determine how 'intelligent' you are since people can be very hard-working.
I do think all of my friends are very talented in all sorts of areas though...

Otaku or not: Nope, but i love reading manga and if its really addicting i don't stop until i finish, even if it's like 10 + volumes. Lol

I have seen a lot of accredited publications refer to "The Human Race"

And I don't use the term 'race' to describe a person's ethnicity because 1. Often times it is used incorrectly, and 2. I don't like the implications thereof.

For instance.

American is not a race, it's a nationality. If a Latino is born in the United States, he is American.
