New Poll - Reading and Drinking

I also believe the word "alcohol" should be added to the question.
I assumed it was referring to all drinks. To be honest, I thought it was a joke about trying to drink a coke out of the can while trying to read at the same time. Using a straw can easily fix this situation.
To answer the real question: No, I don't drink alcohol, so I've never done it while reading manga.

I always read before bed, drunk or sober and it never made a difference in manga. Drinking makes games more immersive (and harder) and anime more funny but has no effect on manga for me.

Honestly I would rather game and interact with people while drinking alcohol. Reading anything while drinking doesn't allow me to concentrate whatsoever. I can maybe watch an anime while drinking with a friend as long as it's entertaining. 🤣
Unless you mean nonalcoholic drinks? 😕

I read my now favorite chapter of Kaguya while I was pretty buzzed the first time (the fireworks chapter, pt 2) and it made it much more powerful.
Usually it doesn't matter. Both light drinking and manga are a part of most of my days.

I drink but not alcohol of any sort. A nice hot cup of coffee or chocolate works out just fine.

I don't really drink, unless I'm out with friends and even then it's never for the sake of it. I would assume the only true difference it would make being drunk is that it becomes difficult to actually read the words.
My current top 3:
Fullmetal Alchemist
Pandora Hearts

No real point to it.
Alcohol has a peculiar effect on memory: it improves formation of memory you've acquired prior to drinking (so if you want to better remember what you've studied in the day, go and get drunk in the evening. And never drink after any traumatic experience, as it'll only etch the memory of the event deeper), and prevents formation of memory after, so whatever you read while drunk you'll just forget.
That being said, those who voted "no" might actually have tried it - they just don't remember it.

I don't really drink often, especially at home, but I don't really recall the experience being significantly different. If anything I just think that it is harder to retain a clear recollection of what was read later on. Considering that in my situation there was no particulr specific benefit at the time, I'd rather keep a better rememberance of the material at a later date. My recommendation for activities while drinking (or after coming home after drinking) are a single player video game light on story and heavy on simplistic fun. My personal favotire is Dynasty Warriors franchise games.
Thanks to the Japanese, I have been deprived of any left over paycheck cash since high school.... >.<'
