Is Kishimoto rich?

He should be. 😮
With the profits the manga is making, along with the anime, Naruto merchandises, video games, clothing, figurines/toys, spinoffs etc, etc.
And it's been like, 9 years.
So hell yeah.
I wonder, why he doesn't actually make his animation quality good then, if he has that much money. 🤢

Because it's his style. Alot of mangaka's are like that. 2 of my personal favourites are Angel densetsu and Ares (manwha) the character animation is quite poor in comparison to others, but you can tell by the backgrounds and buildings and the such that the artists have a great deal of talent.
... The animation sucks. The filler sucks. The pacing sucks.
And it has nothing to do with style...
I'd rather want to read the manga. 😮

Because it costs more money. Why would he waste it if that's good enough for the fans?
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

I find it humorous that you think he has any control over his anime at all. He sold his soul to his publisher. They own him, his manga, his characters, his anime, and anything else they want. The only thing he owns is his money. Hell, if his editor told him to have Sakura rape Naruto in the rear with a boken because it would add complexity to the character, he'd do it.
No, the mangaka has no control over the anime that is made from his manga regardless of how much money he has. He may provide information like colors, voice actor suggestions or some future developments to the production studio, but he isn't a writer, a director, a producer, an animator, and usually isn't even the character designer (someone else takes his manga character designs and simplifies them for animation). He gets paid royalties through his publishing company and probably doesn't even see the newest episode until it comes on television just like the rest of Japan.
I didn't know that.
Thanks for the info.
Though still... ;;

He's not rich, but he's good for life.
That's wealth for ya.

for clarification mangakas only get what the production company pay them they do not obtain any money from merchandises or video games or even anime all this is done under the production company seeing as how they obtain all copy rights its really the same situation as those authors for marvel and dc in america unless they are share holders or executives they are really broke (not really broke but not rich either) cause all they get is what marvel and dc pay them for all other profit goes to the company hope fully some one establishes a company like Image Comics in japan soon to give the creators some more cash.

These values, are they really correct?
If this true, it is kind of... pathetic, I thought he had much more money, he can't be considered rich, can he?
Compare him to J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter): acording to wiki, she has estimated fortune at £560 million ($1.1 billion). Kishi has what... 0,5% of what she has, less?

you cant really compare it like that cause the creator of harry potter gets a share of sales im not sure if kishi does or not at this point but when a manga first starts they negotiate a starting income for the mangaka based on what they believe the manga will make for exp: (A) manga published (B) in magazine would be estimated at $400k so they give him a fix cotract for a certain amount of years for a certain amount of chapters exp: theyll give him 100k a year for 54 chapters a year.although as the popularity of the manga starts to increase so does the cash that the mangaka makes but the fact of the matter is no matter what he truly isnt making the most percentage of the money he could be he isnt rich as in filthy rich he never has to work again but he is rich as in he doesnt necesarily have to stress on how much money he needs to earn for next months rent it is possible for kishi to get a percentage of sale distrubution but that is highly unlikely in the manga buissnes

The author of a novel retains all copyrights to their works, but J.K. is by no means a typical example of anything.

You are being unfair, J. K. Rowling has most if not all of the harry pot ter copyrights
also she is a VERY special case, we can argue that making a book is a lot easier than making a manga, BUT making a book that hits!! is a FUCKING lot harder.
Also Harry Potter eats naruto any day of the week.
If you want to make a huge hit with your book you need to be:
A) Already famous
B) Already famous
C) Be talented
D) HAVE MORE LUCK THAN A MOFO
E) All of the above
and the answer is E >_>

actually most authors sell all copy right to publishers but in Rowlings case she wanted money so she kept quite a few things for exp:character likeness and plot affiliation but she did sell localization rights and publication rights to Bloomsbury.

Hey, aren't you going away from the topic?~
It's about kishimoto, not Mrs Potter.
Anyways, with all the stuff naruto sold/sells I bet he has enough spare change.
