hey i've been in school this whole year with only breaks in holidays, 1 week break at the end of december and a 2 week breaks after the each semester and i'm still here aren't i?

I am as much active as ever even if the school started

i'm not one of those old and intelligent members, but i quite agree with you....people are so off-topic these days, resulting in pages of private conversations that should've been included in this feature call the "Private Messaging" function......i continuouly needed to scroll past posts and pages of non-related crap , to find maybe 1 in 25 posts that actually had something to do with the topic.....i'm not trying to be a grouchy grandma or something, but it's really annoying, and people don't even realized the quality of their posts anymore....i've always thought of this forum on MU as one of the most interesting and mature forums in all the manga forums out there, containing intelligent members who contribute well-though-out posts....lately, the quality had decreased quite a bit, no offense......i'm not trying to critisize the IQ level of new members or anything, but please, this is the only manga forum out there that i actually interested and contributed to, so give your post some more thoughts before you actually post it, because i'm SICK of looking at spams EVERYWHERE

I'm not a huge contributor, and I don't really mind the fact that people are posting coonversation type short posts, but it is difficult for me to to slug through pages and pages on one thread since I can't be on everyday and have slow dial-up. It also often feels like I am reading other people's conversations and its none of my business or just not interesting or I can skip over a few pages and not really miss anything that's related to the topic. I think this type of posting may be better suited for other methods of conversation - I hope the chat function works out!

So we are now sipping some wine and looking for the
pictures of the green youth and warm summers?
It ain't that hard just to browse some topic if one
reads even those posts that are not highly engaged
into the topic. It is just one little button if one does not wish
to read all of that chatter. I do not remember this forum
being very special by anyways in the beginning of the summer.

I was one of the first members to post on the new forum (introduction post: sep 20 2006) but in the end I didn't contribute a lot. I still read the forum though and I must agree with luisalirio84 that the forum has changed. Back when the forum just started, the mods/staff would reply to every introduction thread, which is of course not possible anymore now. There were some interesting discussions and the level of the posts was indeed remarkably higher than it is now.

I started really losing interest in posting here a few months ago, when there started to be so much posts that it was impossible to keep track of them. Even the interesting threads are hard to get through because you can't have a decent discussion with good argumentation if you don't post every few hours. (a discussion with 20 posts between every 2 related posts isn't easy to follow)

I still lurk here a bit, but I don't read most of the stuff people post. I prefer chat when it comes to discussions.
