Valentine's Day and Couples T-shirts

I feel really bad for guys who wear such stuff.
Because you know they're totally whipped. No guy would willingly and voluntarily wear something like a couples T-shirt.
And girls, if your boyfriend doesn't complain or is the one who suggests to wear a couples T-shirt, he's either gay or he cheated on you recently, possibly both. Just so you know.

O.O ;.;
you have possibly crushed all my hopes
That's the thing, I don't want to force my guy to wear the shirts... -.- that loses all romantic qualities of it... like asking your guy to take you on a fancy romantic date... he's suppose to come up with that himself and surprise you... >.<;; It's not that I'm materialistic, it's just... I read to much Shojo maybe T.T
Isn't it possible.. that a guy could come to terms with it and that it wouldn't show that he's whipped but completely confident with himself and his gf~?
suddenly has a new question
... why is it so bad for a guy to wear a couples shirt 😕 tilts head curiously

First things first, I detest the thought that if a guy does something nice for his partner that he is whipped. If a girl does something nice for her partner, no one calls her whipped. Wanting to make your partner happy doesn't make you whipped. Period.
Second, what does being gay have to do with doing something nice for a girlfriend? Or are you using it in an insulting "you're gay" way?

Just because one type of guy feels unmanned by wearing something cute to make his partner happy doesn't mean all kinds of guys will. There are guys out there who are confident enough in their sexuality and in themselves in general to not care about what others think about what they're wearing. There are also guys that are proud to show that they belong with their girl.
The girl's motive matters too, I think. The possible motives I see: girl wants to show "ownership" to fend off other girls, girl wants to show everyone how much the guy loves her that he'd wear it, and lastly girl just thinks it's cute. If the girl thinks it's cute, I'm behind her, but I really can't agree with the other two.
If you want to give it to him, I say go right ahead. When you give it to him you could wait to see what he thinks of it first, and if he likes it then reveal that you have one to go with it. Make it his choice to wear them together or not.
Example: for Father's Day every year my little girls make a T-shirt for my husband. No one forces him to wear it. No one heavily hints that he should wear it. But he wears it. Maybe not that day. But some day, out of the blue, he'll put it on. And when he does it makes our daughters so happy that out of all the shirts in his drawer, he chose to wear the one they gave him.
Is my husband "whipped" or "gay" for wearing a shirt with little girl hand prints that says "Daddy" on it? Or did he cheat on them.....? 🤣

Haha! I don't care for them. I wouldn't subject my significant other to it either, but I don't care if other couples do. It's none of my business.

I don't think it's fair for you to put such expectations on your boyfriend LOL. Expecting him to be like a prince out of a shoujo manga. You won't ever find a guy like that on this planet. Shoujo manga =/= real life. 🤣

. Wow~ That is so cute <3 . <- eyes of admiration for your husband~
hehehe and I really try not to have high expectations StarlightDreams I know life isn't a shojo manga, but... it's hard not to fantasize XDD Like... wouldn't that be nice..
I mean you do hear stories of ppl with bf's like that in real life.. sometimes.. they are sort of rare though ... >.<;; XD
It just kind of.. well it seems like a lot of society sees a guy who is sweet or romantic as being not that manly... that kind of sucks~ That or they have to be 'forced' into doing sweet romantic things... it makes me wonder if all the guys doing valentine's things with the girlfriends are being forced into it because if they don't their gf will be angry.. they aren't just doing it out of their own choice to be romantic? Not many guys like romance I guess~ It's a fundamental difference between guys and girls or something?

Couple-shirts would be TOO embarrassing for me! I'd never do that. And I have yet to meet a guy who has actually worn one in broad daylight. I'd never make my S.O wear a couples shirt. I think it's a bit flashy?
The only thing couple-like I'd ever have is matching Cellphone charms or something.
I'm not too much of a romantic person. :3

I've only ever seen one couple wearing matching shirts. It was kind of cute yet strange at the same time. I can't imagine ever wearing matching shirts.

It isn't about a guy being nice to his girl to make her happy, that's fine. Hell, that's great even. But there's other, easier and less humiliating ways to go about that.
Guys will never happily wear a couples T-shirt unless they a) got forced/bribed into it. b) feel guilty or c) are into real girly stuff (which elevates chances of gayness), because let's face it, couples shirts are super girly.
And if, per chance, they were seen wearing a couples shirt by one of his mates, he will never hear the end of it. Which is why he will always try to avoid such situations.
I'm sure though, there are a few guys out there who wouldn't mind, are not gay and don't cheat. For the general norm however, my point holds true.
Also you can't really compare a father's day T-shirt made by a man's daughters with a couples T-shirt.
It's an entirely different scenario with completely different parameters.
Chances are if you would ask your husband to wear a couples shirt or something in public, he would downright refuse. Or at least he should. If not, something is either very good for you or very bad.

I think they just wanna avoid all the ridiculing (not to mention beatings) they'd get if seen wearing one.

It's also really really really tacky. Whether I was a girl or a guy, matching shirts with my girlfriend/boyfriend is just so silly looking.

Hummm...
This conversation reminds me of something...
Anyways, whenever I see a couple matching, or wearing couples shirts, I think they're trying too hard in a similar way to when someone protests too much. It's like they need people to see them as a couple to verify that they are in a relationship... as if they can't do it themselves.
Or you can say it's a modern version of a beard.
Oh, and this is a pretty awesome couple t-shirt...
