Because you could die early. Humans may be omnivores, but we are poorly suited to consume red meat. Even if you get plenty of greens, you can still develop health problems early on if you also consume a large amount of red meat on a regular basis, problems like heart disease, colon cancer, etc.

You can actually get every single nutrient you need from greens, beans, nuts, and fruits. If you're not vegetarian you can toss in fish for good measure. I think the misconception of why vegetarians, at least in the US, don't get enough nutrition isn't because they can't, it's usually because they still eat like most Americans do only minus the meat. In other words, they eat terribly.

See? Everybody is fundamentally different when it comes to things like this. I don't think I can convince anybody to stop eating meat, and I know nobody can convince me. This topic is better left alone.

ive been a vegetarian for a year in a half, and doctors told me im supposed to eat a little bit of meat, so what im trying to do is to eat meat only in weekends, believe it or not (I actually didnt at first)
i dont really like how it tastes anymore, i thought that when i tasted it i wasnt gonna be able to return to the no meat thing, so a little bit of meat is okay, just not every day 😛

Been a vegetarian for more than 10 yrs, just hate the taste of meat, wish i didnt! I was an animal science major and i know the background and the animals are treated really good, if they didnt then the meat quality will decrease which equals less money..
