Argentina in the Finals OMG - AMAZING!!!! It's been 24 years since the last time we were there 😀 That alone is the best for my country!!!!!

What happened to not 'arguing' with me any more?

Germany BARELY made it past France, Germany ALMOST lost to Algeria, Germany TIED Ghana 2-2, and BARELY beat the US. One great result against Brazil, a team actually lost to itself, is suddenly going to change that? Brazil wasn't even playing well i ...

Shall i now gloat at my prediction! Yes, Germany win the finals. My prediction was spot on...This, the guy who was 100% sure Germany would finish 3rd or worse.

😀
You Must feel stupid to have questioned me! 😛

Lovely game, it was close but ultimately it just looked like Argentina was on the defense with not a lot of men up front, only looking lively on the counter attack, with very little ball possession, it was bound to go in for Germany. 1 man cannot carry a team.

Congratulations to Germany. They've won the World Cup, but I thought they could do a better match and play better than they've done.

After watching the game, I think both had their chances to score.
Germany could play better; Of course but Argentina's defense was more solid than their last rival (and was the most questioned position). So a match like semi-finals was not going to happen.

I'm proud of my team, they gave everything to make it to the finals, even when we lost at the end.

Maybe I just don't know enough about football, but that's not what the game looked like to me. At least in the beginning, Argentina was the team that had more chances at goals. Every time the camera panned to the audience, all the Germans were worried as hell, and the Argentinians were going crazy waving their shirts in the air.

Congratz Germany! A victory that is really long overdue.

I missed the first half by accident, so i won't claim to know what the first half looked like but 2nd half onward, there was a little spark from Argentina but it then faded and they let Germany comfortably live in their half of the pitch for a long time passing the ball. Eventually something will happen given the right amount of time.
The longer the game went on the more it looked like they were trying to make quick breaks before shortly losing the ball. The first few starting minutes of second half looked good for Argentina. other than that, it went down hill.

That happened in many matches for Argentina in the whole cup... and in this match particularly, they were already exhausted, given that they played more minutes and had one day less to rest.

Argentina was playing more based on the counter-attack, having in mind the power of the german forwards... The coach said it once before, he was more interested in occupying the spaces in the field, than ball possession.

Ultimately their downfall in my opinion. I remember that last world cup where Portugal lost 1-0 to Spain Who then went on to win it all. Essentially the same thing happened. it was a mirror in strategy. Portugal had very strong counter attack, lots of defense and looked like they could score multiple goals but essentially the team that ended up scoring was the team that had set up a tent in the other teams field. you open yourself to weakness at some point, it eventually happened.
