Ok, I usually like arrogant characters, but today I'm feeling a little mean and I want to read about characters arrogant/cool getting owned. 😀

By "owned", I mean failure and humiliation. Specially humiliation. Character who thinks greatly of himself/herself gets into a humiliating situation. Any kind of arrogant, snob, haughty, overbearing, high-and-mighty character would fit my criteria.

I took a look into "Humiliation" category and some of the works there indeed have fit my criteria. But it seems that in English you use "Humiliation" more with a sexual connotation, right? I mean humiliation as a whole. Not only in sexual terms but in any situation in which the arrogant characters feels ashamed, embarrassed and... well, humiliated. It could be a very arrogant typical shoujo manga male lead suffering any kind of public or private humiliation.

The character that's going to be humiliated/owned is an ARROGANT character. He is a cool character who possibly used to humiliate others (not necessary, but nice) and now is being humiliated as well. Manga such as Vitamin (SUENOBU Keiko) doesn't count, because even though they deal with humiliation (as in bullying), the victim was a common nice girl and not an arrogant character.

I don't remember very well, but I think that Uchi no Darling Eikoku Shinshi and Motto Shigekiteki na Kankei kind of fit my criteria, even though they're on the "sexual humiliation" way.

I'm accepting everything, as look as the character that's going to be humiliated is arrogant.
By everything, I mean I accept yaoi, yuri, hentai, ecchi, shoujo, shounen, josei, seinen and everything else I wouldn't normally accept.

Not my cup of tea, but since I'm accepting everything, I'll give it a try. The art looks cute. 🙂 Thank you!

Huuumn... I remember that I have read Hana Yori Dango first volume some years ago and I dropped it because I didn't like it much. But since you're saying it fits, I'll take a look. Thank you!

If anyone remember any other series, please tell me! ^_^

Hana Yori Dango definitely fits. The art looks bad and the guy ugly but both get better eventually.

Skip Beat seems like it will eventually fit if Kyoko ends up getting her revenge whether it happens intentionally or unintentionally.

Bird Kiss fits. The heroine in this one would be the arrogant rival bitch in most other shoujo. I think she got off a little easy tho. But it makes sense given that the main guy is a total sweetie and really likes her despite everything.

If you can stand long shounens, then Kuroko no Basket. There are A LOT of "arrogant character gets owned" situations.

Death Note - on the slim chance you haven't read it yet.

Onani Master Kurosawa - I think it's a twist on what you're looking for. It's definitely an amazing manga.

Dokuhime - one could make a case of her being arrogant.

Love Stage!! - the seme acts arrogant/overbearing at first and gets humiliated as he's continually shot down or finds himself in bad situations because of his feelings.

Nam Gi-han to Be an Elite - "owning the arrogant protagonist" seems to be a constant theme in every chapter.

Ok! I'll definitely try to read Hana Yori Dango. ^_^ The art didn't bothered me much, so it'll be ok.
Skip Beat is one which I already tried to read as well, but I'll give it a second chance then.
I never heard of Bird Kiss and it seems good!

I already read Death Note, Onani Master Kurosawa and Love Stage!! and you're right, all of them fit. I'll read Dokuhime. I heard of it before and it seems really good.

Thank you very much for all those recommendations! ^_^ They all look great!
And if there's any more, name it and I'll read it as well!

This is all I can think of right now:

Desire Climax

Hadashi de Bara o Fume

It might be that the category has been applied to mean sexual humiliation, but I think in general usage the word has a broader meaning.

Thank you gss93, silencecomes, SAimNE, and jahu for your help. 🙂 I'll take a look in the series that you've recommended. They all look really good (the art of Zippy Ziggy is very nice and a look at its categories made me sure that I'll enjoy it a lot)!

Thank you for your suggestions, but... I remember reading some chapters of those series before. As far I can remember the girls are the ones getting humiliated and they're not arrogant (since they're poor and get picked up by rich guys that somehow treat them badly) at least in the first chapters that I've read. Does that change later or something like that? Or it's me confusing those two manga with another that I've read? 😕

Oh, it's good to know that. ^_^' I was afraid about using the word "humiliation" and it having that meaning only, because I couldn't think about synonymous of this word that fitted well what I wanted to say.
