So like, doujinshi is really flourishing in subcultres such as yaoi and yuri right?
Do you guys read doujinshi more often than actual published manga by a company?
Or do you read the published yaoi/yuri by mangaka more often?

well I rarely read dj but when I read them then only some yaoi pairings of my favourite mangas...the last I read were some Prince of Tennis djs...

i rarely read dj because most of the yaoi dj out there are for shounen manga that i don't read (naruto, bleach, etc). Its weird reading about characters you have no connection to

I love doujinshi!!! Sometimes, its even more fun than the fandom that it originates from. I don't quite enjoy reading the Hetalia manga, but I love their doujinshis. I view doujinshis as better than fanfiction, so I read them as much as I can if I love the couple enough.

I rarely read any doujinshi and, as much as i remember, ive read Hetalia (especially AmericaxEngland *nosebleed*) and Togainu no Chi (after i got extremely dissapointed with anime and needed smth to cheer me up), maybe there was smth more, but i cannt remember at the moment. Actually, id never read any yaoi doujishi of the anime/manga i like (for example, FMA or Trinity Blood (oh yeah, ive seen few pictures out of such doujin:/ ), `cause it is repulsive for me to see the actual story and characters being ruined to create some rediculous pairings between characters, who never were supposed to have any traits of such behavior.

Yes, I do read doujinshis, and there was a time - a few years ago - when I actually read more BL doujinshis than actual manga. My favourite fandoms, in no particular order:

Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE - Kurogane x Fai
Digimon - Taichi x Yamato
Final Fantasy - mostly Cloud x Zack (my all time favourite)
Kingdom Hearts - mostly Riku x Sora
Death Note - mostly Matt x Mello (I love Death Note and I feel silly sometimes, seeing as though Matt hardly appears in the read thing)

I've flirted with SasuNaru but fell out of love for them rather quickly. Still dig the anime though. The only doujinshis I read that do not belong to any fandom I know are those of Yoneda Kou. She always delivers, it's amazing 😀

Yes, I love reading it, specially when it's from a anime I don't watch/manga I don't read, because it looks like a new manga... haha I ship a lot of characters and my favorites djs are the ones about sports manga/anime.

I used to read a lot more than I do now, when I was actively reading / watching the originals. I've read a lot more than this, but these are my favorite ships.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, what a wealth of pairings! 8059, Yamamoto x Gokudera is my OTP, I also ship D18 (Dino x Hibari), and YONEDA Kou made me a believer in 8018, before I even knew about her other work. I've also seen some really good Shamal x Gokudera. I only ship Tsuna het, so no 6927 for me, and would really like some Gokudera x Haru djs.
Gintama has just about as many pairings as KHR!. I favor Hijikata x Katsura, but that's really hard to find. Second favorite is Hijikata x Gintoki, but I'll settle for Gintoki x Hijikata.
Gundam 00 - Lockon Stratos x anybody (including himself 🤣 )
Tiger & Bunny - OTP Barnaby x Kotetsu, but I like other pairings: Keith x Ivan; Antonio x Kotetsu

Doujinshi has quite a bad reputation, but so many mangaka got their start there, such as Yoneda-sensei. YAMANE Ayano drew Slam Dunk doujinshi before she did ViewFinder. A lot of doujinshi are still poorly-drawn plot-what-plot, but I've found enough really good sexy, funny, heart-touching stories to make the search worth it. The best ones add another dimension to the original work. I'm impressed at the number of well-known mangaka who are working in the Tiger & Bunny fandom: MATOH Sanami, ASOU Kai, MIZUKI Gai (bara), KOUGA Yun, MIYAMOTO Kano (!), and KODAKA Kazuma, who is writing really stunning in-character stories.
