And another one, why does Ichigo's dad mourn the dead of his wife, when he knows that she is in soul society?

If Ichigo is really sad about the dead of his mom, why don't he just look for her?

His mother soul was eaten by a hollow so, the soul didn't go soul society..

And even if this didn't happen, and she died because of a natural disease, it would still be pretty impossible to find her.

Keep in mind that Soul Society is big. It's not a little village. It, at least, has the size of the United States with Seireitei(where the Shinigami preside) in the middle. Seireitei is small, though. It's as large as a small country, like let's say Belgium. xD

There are also lots of souls(people). So let's say that Soul Society is the equivalent of the real world. Then there would be like 6-7 billion souls living there. And only the few elite live in Seireitei. Maybe like a million souls?

So when Masaki gets reincarnated into Soul Society, she will have to cross a large distance to Seireitei, depending on the place where she will be reincarnated, while she has no means too. She can walk, of course. But where is the money to sleep in a tavern or to eat? She might even be mugged/killed, since there are dangerous hoodlums in Soul Society.

In the slight chance that she does get to Seireitei, how will she get in? It's heavily guarded by 4 guardians, who won't let a 'commoner' in. And in the miniscule chance that she does get into Seireitei, how will she know her way? Know which people to talk to? Will any of the Captains have time for her? And if they do, how will they respond when they find out that she's the wife of Isshin(assuming he's an ex-captain)?

And there are countless of other hindrances that I've forgotten or didn't thought of.

She would rather be living a new life, with new friends and family... somewhere.

To further prove my point, look at page 9 from Chapter 76:

"It is rare to find your family from your previous life."

And, apparantly, Shinigami purposefully seperate people who know each other... Maybe for some cosmic rule that people can only spend time with eachother for one lifetime.

"To live in Rukongai, you will get a ticket according to the time you died, and then you will be sent off in different directions... Even if you died together, if you don't get tickets at the same time, you won't be able to know where the other one is."

Aren't all the eaten souls free after killing the hollow?

Dr.Love@ It would be hard, and with the Aizen menage all people in Soul Society should be thinking in other things

Maybe eaten souls are gone for good. Yeah, that's what I think. Since a Hollow needs spirit particles. Souls consists of spirit particles. Hollow eats soul and digest those aforementioned spirit particles, with no way of returning.

Think Kaien.
Sorry, can't be explained without spoilers.

Yes, but I still stand with my point. 😛

Kaien himself is long gone, but his memories which are 'stored' inside his spirit particles are still there. And because the Ninth Espada absorbed the Hollow that has eaten Kaien, he could use Kaien's form and techniques. Though this is a special case, anyways. >.<

This has never been fully explained, but my guess is that souls never are gone for good. And the reason is that Bleach is based in Budism, and in Budism, souls never vanish, they only continue the perpetual flow between realms.

And before someone tells me that Bleach is not based in Budism:

The concept of reincarnation is budist.

In Budism there are 6 reigns or realms:

1- Gods -> where Aizen wants to go.
2- Demigods -> Soul society
3- Humans -> .....humans
4- Animals
5- Hungry ghouls -> Hueco mundo (hollows)
6- Demons -> Hell

Let's say that the mangaka doesn't care about this and wants the hollows to eat and vanquish souls. That still doesn't make sense with his rules.

-Hollows that "killed" people while being human (they don't actually kill them, just send them to soul society) are sent to hell.

-Hollows that eat souls, actually killing beings and vanquishing their existence forever, are just sent to soul society.

Edit: I also think that Kaien was a case apart, because that Hollow had the ability to trap souls. I think

when Rukia killed the Hollow Kaien's soul was released and could continue the flow

That doesn't look like Bleach, at all. So no Buddhism.

I was admitting you're right 😛 That was an exception, proving that all the other hollows simply don't have such ability.

Bleach world's construction reminds me of something...I just need to catch that thought. It was not the Buddishm, more like sth from a sc-fi book 🤣

Oh, my mistake then. 😀

And @Catzcradle: You could've just posted the question at this thread. D: No worries, though.

Although its's different from Buddhism, Bleach has a lot of world indeed. Yeah, because it's explained in early chapter that hell exist, while soul society and hoeco mondo exist as different dimension as well, other than human world. So there must be a god realm as well. Why? Because the shinigami aren't even close to god (their abilities are much weaker than gods in most belief and religions). Shinigami are spiritual existence with exceptional battle power. 😀
Hmm... Aizen must be some sicko who aimed to become god, yeah.
