Ok I'm just gonna say that this is one thing that I feel strongly about and i'm not gonna read this discussion because it will make me angry.

Marriage (as a legal entity) is silly anyways, it is far to wrapped up in religion. I say scrap the legal concept and come up with something better.

And I have never heard anything that would make me think that anyone who wants to should be prevented from marrying once they reach legal age and can make their own decisions.

I apologize for inflicting my opinion on others (it is infliction because i will not respond and i did not read any of the previous posts).

I vote no. I also vote no on opposite sex marriage. If you want to get "married" do it through a religious organization or through some service that will provide you with a ceremony. As far as goverment should be concerned, all domestic partnerships no matter how you want to mix up the genders, should be considered CIVIL UNIONS.

However I did refrain from voting since I dont support "marriage" through the state in general.

I support it. If someone wants to get married, for me the gender doesn't matter. My two male friends are thinking about getting married. Basically, they'd have to convert to Protestantism and go to England to get married, but if they really want it, I don't think it will keep them from doing it. I can only support.

fuk marriage, let them adopt children!! there are small kids without parents everywhere. sitting in the streets at night begging for a living, starving to death. their lifes would be much easier, even if some ignorant children teased them for it. they would get an education too if the parents could pay for it. so what if they are gay, i bet elton john could give a child a happier life than some dumb alchololic child abusers. im pro gay marriage btw. its nothing holy about it, people can get wed over night by elvis in las vegas on a whim.

what is marriage? since the world isn´t ruled exclusively by how the Vatican dictates, and the marriage is also a civilian right, and also since marriage between two individuals of the same sex is already approved in some places, i don´t really see the problem.
We don´t have the power to judge over other people´s action and condemn them only because we have principles that go against certain actions, because if we do the same do apply to us too. So let them marry and adopt if they love each other and want to have children.
How can we say it´s unnatural when human beings go against nature so much that the appelation to "nature" isn´t that valid.
Also there are different concepts of marriage, and marriage between individuals of the same sex is already legal in some places so, what concept are you talking about?

I don't see anything wrong with same sex marriage.
If two people love each other, why not marrying..
It's really stupid that it's forbidden in so many places (most of them I guess..)

Not allowing same-sex marriages proves we're still in the middle ages, no matter how much people nowadays brag about how much mentality evolved blablabla.

I don't see why it's so frowned upon because it's really not hurting anyone, but I have to agree to the fact that when it comes to the church it should be up to each religion to choose whether to allow it or not, or even better to each priest in part. That's a very touchy subject but I see nothing that could bother anyone else if the marriage was only in the papers and not at the church too. People really should start realizing that human rights does not necessarily equal what the church says.
I say just let every religion or priest decide it and everyone's happy..mostly.

Well, I'm against it, I'm both a Roman Catholic and full of prejudice towards gay people, so I would rather burn in Hell then ever condole marriages of same-sex couples, maybe if I was raised in a different environment...
