scanned (vs scanlated) releases

I just figured that MU is a scanlation-release posting website, and scans of English publications didn't really have a place here
Just check out Baka-Updates (anime counterpart) and see how many English DVD rips are listed there. Is that some wish for double standards? (Personally I am for listing scans, but it doesn't really matter to me as I am usually aware of most of them even before they hit mangaupdates.)
Also, while I believe there are probably some groups trying to pass off scans as their own scanslation, it's not the case of regular scan groups, who make it very obvious it is a scan, even if they don't tag their files with "this is a scan, not a scanslation".
If you are scanslating a licenced series, you are usually just working harder (or wasting time, depending on how you look at it) and hurting the publisher just as much as the scanner. I like you anyways (unless you botched the job and then I stop liking your lousy work, publisher or scanslator).

Ah. It probably won't make much of a difference, but I would also like an identifier and possibly a filter too. Although I'll understand if this would be too much trouble. Thanks again. : )
I second that 😃
I mean I go to the bookstore a lot and purchased some licensed mangas too 🤣
So I really don't want to come on and see a whole lot of licensed manga 😔 Because it makes me unable to look for ones that aren't 😲
