All You Need Is Kill

An Edge of Tomorrow TV show has been revealed to be in development by Warner Bros. Released in 2014, Edge of Tomorrow starred Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in an adaptation of the Japanese novel All You Need Is Kill. The movie was directed by Doug Liman and received a rather favorable reception upon its release. Critics and general audiences alike loved the sci-fi action movie, as it earned a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earned more than $370 million worldwide. Despite this reception and an ending that left the door open for more stories, Warner Bros. has had a hard time turning Edge of Tomorrow into a franchise.
Development on Edge of Tomorrow 2 has been underway for multiple years, but the sequel has been essentially stuck in the same stage for a while. Doug Liman is ready to make the movie and has a script done for Live Die Repeat and Repeat (as he wants it to be titled). Liman has praised the new story, but scheduling Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt to return has been quite difficult. The last update on the sequel came in May 2021 when Blunt said Edge of Tomorrow 2 might be too expensive for Warner Bros. to actually make.

Without much traction happening on the sequel, it seems Warner Bros. has turned its attention towards making an Edge of Tomorrow TV show. News of the development comes from a surprising source, a lawsuit by Village Roadshow Films against Warner Bros. Village Roadshow co-financed and co-produced Edge of Tomorrow with Warner Bros. The production studio is now suing WB over The Matrix Resurrections and included former THR reporter and current Puck News correspondent Eriq Gardner shared snippets of the lawsuit on Twitter. In section 20 of the lawsuit, Village Roadshow states WB has decided "to go forward with a television series based on Edge of Tomorrow, another Village Roadshow film."

Read the full article and donĀ“t be too excited. This might be vaporware to defraud the production company behind EoT which is currently suing WB. But this is news.
