Sabin it's not "funny" seeing someone you hold dear ruin his/her life because of anime or games.

well .. if someone that i hold dear is going to be trapped in life like this, i will do anything necessary to prevent it, even if that means i must kill his/her computer and restricted his/her access to internet cafe

It's not unusual for people to die being addicted to anime and games take WoW for example how many people have died so far?

i seldomly hear someone died because too-much-anime, but for games, yes, i do

i have about 3-4 dead people in my country about 6 months ago because playing game too much

until now i can't understand, why someone let his/her life ruled by anime/games ? 🤨

People have let their lives be ruled by much more stupid things than anime or games. Humankind has a history of believing and obeying all sorts of stuff.

         Anyway, as Lilchoconut said, anime addiction is probably not the cause but the effect of something else. Finding out what the core problem is and trying to solve that propably isn't going to be easy. And be carefull putting to much effort into a depressed friend, chances are, that he|ll pull you down with him if you don't have something to keep you over water.

Would you rather be addicted to smoking than MMORPG? I'd say u die earlier from smoking but MMORPG leeches your life away much more than smoking

Well I think what is dangerous is when you love anime and manga so much that real life just seems so pale in comparision...so dissapointing and ugly.
I think that's dangerous because it's a deep psychosis of delusional proportions.
And it DOES affect lives. People would rather order in figures and life size anime type blow up dolls. And talk to the screen as if the characters are alive. Considering them their only friends who can understand them.

All that stuff is creepy and extreme.

I like real life and all of the different values and the mixture of people. You can't have just a beautiful world, and there is no such thing as perfection. In the end an anime or manga is a fantasy of the author. It doesn't reflect a reality that could exist.

Well that's what I said. But you can't deny the extreme minority who do let it rule and ruin their lives.

The fact that a social commentary manga like Welcome to the NHK exist could tell you that there is a percentage of people in Japan suffering from a fear to go outside and who welcome the safety of anime and manga.

I don't think people who like anime or manga are psychos, I just said that people who go crazy and shun out the real world and get obsessed with a 2D character....well...therapy anyone? They are the ones who get so freakin deluded...that its just sad

The real is world is one of interaction. The fact that you grow and devlop through relationships and through a better understanding of the society and civilization of where we live. The respect and learning from the human laws and RIGHTS we have established.

Fantasy world? Imaginary world? What has that got to do with me having to go in 5 minutes to work?

Reading and Watching and being entertained is just that. A pure pleasure.
