In manga, people are always catching cold for stupid reasons, like sleeping without a blanket. I know that it isn't possible, since colds are caused by viruses, so it bugs me a bit.

IDK I have just been thinking about it so I want to know if you people have caught colds like they do in manga

it is actually possible to get a cold without sleeping with a blanket

i was nervous at first it was big & long & went straight up i had to try it i eased onto it & liked it! i went up & down on it.... i love escalators now! 😀

But in manga catching a cold from that sort of thing is incredibly definite. It's true that if you sleep while cold or get caught in the rain your immune system will weaken slightly, but that doesn't mean you'll catch a cold from it.
I've never caught a cold like that in real life, personally.

Being cold (sleeping without a blanket, walking home in the rain without a coat, etc.) can lower your body's resistance to colds, but the actual virus had to come from someone else.

I've never personally noticed a connection between anything like going to bed with wet hair, going outside with wet hair, sleeping without a blanket, etc. and getting a cold.

I take forever in the bath,
never dry my hair completely

Maybe Japan is so populated, that people often catch colds by just breathing in the air! 😲
And when it rains, theres even a higher chance to catch a cold!!!

It might be because Finland is so cold that viruses just can't keep moving. Slow viruses means a haelthy mams.

I get my colds mostly from the bus (since I take it to school) and there is a majority of old people in the tightly-packed bus, and since they cant pull their hands to their mouth from either a muscle cramp or if they are holding a bag with some stuff in it or maybe they are just plain hicks they sneeze into the sealed air of the bus and all of us breathe it, thats the largest cause of colds here, OLD PEOPLE

Actually, the biggest spreaders of colds are little kids. They don't cover their mouths when they sneeze. They don't wash their hands correctly. I currently have a BAD cold. It sucks!

i do that too (apart from sleeping naked when its cold......),
i just recovered from a cold which i got when i was on a field trip and had to spend ages outside in a stream in the cold.

Your body could just have stronger immunity against cold viruses 🙂
