I've already tried Fear and it wasn't bad but the pacing was a tad slow.

Fatal Frame seems to be the consensus so I'll try that one next. Keep the recommendations coming though. I'll probably get through at least a few more before the end.

Try Condemned: Criminal Origins (xbox360 or PC).

Very atmospheric and way underrated.

It's somewhat like F.E.A.R. (it's by the same developer, Monolith) except with (mostly) melee combat instead of shooting and much more emphasis on the horror.

The sequel is coming out soon and is looking very good as well IMO.

Back in the heyday of Genesis, I thought the Splatterhouse series was scary. There was just something about the music in the game that made your hair stand on end. Since then I've stayed away from "scary games". mostly because they were all on playstation, and I've never owned one. Until Fatal Frame 2 that is. I played it for an hour and it freaked me out so much I just had to stop. 😔

Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

Russian Roulette. Not recommended for those that still like breathing though.

Condemned 1 & 2 are pretty scary and especially if you play by yourself

Such an old thread. I'll post because I'm bored though. Apparently Siren: Blood Curse is really scary (I haven't had a chance to try it). In the US it is not available in stores but it can be downloaded through the PlayStation network. I just watched a demo of it here in case anyone else is interested.

Manhunt and Siren Blood Curse Are good Horror games.
