My ideal Z first chapter would be something like the first two pages explaining something like "the last two chapters were from Harima's manga (or dreams why not?) and never took place actually. And then continue with the arc-to-be Harima's engagement with Eri yet living with Yakumo.

I'd also like Z would be only like 20 maaaybe 30 chaps max. Not dragged yet enough to write a final arc and a good ending.

But, meh, i'm pretty sure it'll be something retarded like Harima's chasing after Tenma again <__<. I hope to be wrong.

why change it?

• moving to a new magazine
• closing the arc of harima x tenma as the protagonist couple
• start the new arc harima x eri x yakumo

is not a big deal and is not an "ending" IMHO.

Adidaas, how can you be so sure that it will have more YakumoxHarima? I mean after the time skip most of them are already graduated while Yakumo is still not... And Harima is not living in her house anymore (nor is engaged with Eri) nor seems like drawing manga with her too. So there is no real reason why there will be connection. More so it won't be SCHOOL rumble as simply almost all characters finished school already.

The SR ending was so shitty that it made a continuation of same characters story almost impossible (unless it would be "it was all a dream").

It's true that KJ royally messed up the ending, but there still is room for redemption (albeit, only a little). He can still continue the story. So, they're not in school anymore. That would make the title of School Rumble pretty ridiculous, but at the same time, there is life after school. Some of them will be going to school. And if you want to know what is connecting Harima to Yakumo or Eri or anyone else from 2-C, it is that fact that they are friends. I know, pretty lame. However, who's to say that Harima won't come back to Japan after he finishes his soul searching (that's basically what he's doing)? Who's to say that he will? The truth is we don't know. Since we don't know, it is safe to make any predictions as to where SRZ would take us. There's really no wrong prediction.

Didn't Harima say he was on this journey to perfect his skills? So, he probably will go back to Japan after he feels he's ready to make manga again. About the only character (that's important) that won't have a story to tell anymore is Tenma. She's going to live happily ever after with Karasuma (or what's left of him). Everyone else is still unknown, in particular the leading male protagonist. There is still room to finish the story, and hopefully that's what SRZ would do.

I was thinking that it could've went a bit more than just that.. though Z's coming up and I hope it does get things resolved or just something.. wishiful thinking?

Since everything does have to be School related, I guess it ends but, I don't know.. 😕

Adidaas, my assumptions are at least based on the last chapters as it will be VERY hard to make a sensible continuation, and the only really possible way to bring everything back is to make one huge rests and go back to chapter 281 telling that ch 282 and 283 were just a dream or made in Harima's manga.

There is no logically possible continuation after such big time skip. I am just using logic. Even with KJ's creativity if he wan'ts to really keep it up with SR and their characters there is no way to make it in a sensible way. So it is either some huge reset (dream. manga or maybe just ignoring the two chapters) or simply being based on new characters with original SR cast being only side-characters popping in from time to time.

Looks like Z episode 1 is another gag parallel world story, this time in Edo-period Japan, Tenma/Yakumo/Akira as theives and Harima as the law enforcer. Obviously a parody of the classic manga series "Cat's Eye", but set in Edo era.

It will be running in Magazine Special every month from now.

Personally I hope it will get cancelled due to low popularity and KJ will quit his career as a mangaka as he is too brainless for this anyway.

Seriously.. what does he want to achieve with THAT crap? It won't be popular because many hate what he did with SR and now it is not even SCHOOL rumble anymore... I can't see SR Z as popular... Maybe only popular as burning material once people will get tired burning their SR collections and putting the vids on Nico and would switch to SR Z...

Is the language at the top translated at the bottom? Because if it's not, I suggest you translate it.
