books!? owh.. the horror. the only books i read is comics, magazine..... and catalog about guy stuff.

i can't read the same book twice so i minimized my visit to bookstore so i can read all the new ones without coming back again.

Blinks and then screams

I have books I've read over a dozen times. I read manga, but I've never read a comic (unless you count in the newspaper) and I would live at the bookstore if I could.

Books you can't read twice?!? Hell I think I've read the first book of the Wheel of Time series 6-7 times, actually probably books 1-5. I tend to reread the series about the time the next book is ready to be put on the shelves 😳

my first stop as always is the sci-fi section.

  1. Scifi/Fantasy
  2. Manga
  3. Thriller

in that order

I never really saw the point in them.

My mom goes to Borders alot and she used to take me with her. I used to just go to the Starbucks on the otherside of the store and get a cookie/iced coffee. But now i'd buy like four books everytime i go. since most manga cost as low as $8.00, my mom won't take me anymore. 😢

There are different types of bookstores I go to.

There are bookstores that only sell novels and children's comic books. I've gotten Hamlet (which was illustrated).

Then there are bookstores that sell both manhwa and novels. I usually go to one to get the newest ones.

Then there are bookstores that only sell manhwa (manga). If there's a sale, you can get used books for 1$ each.

Overall, getting manhwa makes shopping more fun.

Normally I go to either teen fiction, or manga. Regular manga, that is. They have a separate section for adult manga right in the middle of the erotica section. People tend to give my brother and I funny looks since we sit in whatever section we happen to be in to read.

Well, the manga section's always first... I normally spend all my money on manga, so it's kind of the only section I normally go to. ^^;

If I do manage to bypass the manga section, it's definitely for the horror section.

But, since I volunteer at a bookstore, I normally stumble across interesting books in other sections as I organize. Like today; I found one in the sci fi section, one in horror, and another in fiction (even though it should be horror, too). I've also gotten books off of the best seller's shelves and the science/theology and philosophy sections.

Still, it's normally restricted to manga and horror. Normally the fiction section's too big to peruse casually, and the science/theology and philosophy sections normally have more hardback books, and I need to be in a certain mood for nonfiction, which doesn't come around often.

And this post is proof that I need a thesaurus. >< "Normally" should not be used six times in such a small post...

When I hit bookstores, I just browse the whole store (I prefer smaller used book stores to megasellers like B&N). I only skip the religious section and the romance novels. I don't really need to read some harlequin novel, after all.

But yeah, I'll read from damn near any genre, so there's no one section for me.

A few years ago I always went straight to the manga section. But these days I like the Non-Fiction section, especially science, philosophy, and psychology. Sadly, bookstores here never seem to hold a stock of Richard Dawkins' the "The Selfish Gene". 🙁
I rarely read novels but I still go to the fiction section anyway, in the hopes of a one in a hundred chance that I'd actually find a fiction book I'd like to read. XD
