A couple of weeks ago a certain fantasy series caught my attention ... but then I got distracted and forgot the name.

So here goes, from what I remember from the description: an ultimate evil queen or something disguises herself, becomes the travel companion of the hero fighting or destined to fight her and inevitably falls in love with him.

It's not much to work with, but i'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me the series' name.
