I am italian and I listen to Laura Pausini's italian songs all the time, and after some time she has influenced me to listen to her Spanish versions of her songs too. She isn't Spanish but she is a multi-linguist. Well anyways I like her music!
same for me
I'm from the caribean grew listining to both spanish and english music. the reason i like spanish music is because one can express ones feelings better.
i'm romantic at heart shhh :shy:

I'm hispanic and I dislike spanish music...tho I used to be into pop and ballads because of the lyrics, but as music went forward unto becoming what it is now it made me disappointed.
Reggaeton simply sucks...no lyrics and a repetitive beat...just listen to Daddy Yankee and you'll understand...I have heard the other genres you listed, but all of them suck to the point where you wouldn't want to listen to them after the first time you hear them. =____=;;
i disagree with you. i'm very proud of the spanish music. maybe not with reggeton, but with other great bands that make exelent music, like cafe tacuba, illya kuyaki and the valderramas or even los tres. cumbia and salsa are nice rithym to dance too...
(p.s: i'm speaking for south american music, tough)
Yeah i agree with you, but you missed the great argentina rock form the '80s like Soda Stereo, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Los Autenticos decadentes, or chilean bands like Los Prisioneros, Los Tres...
But from this time i'm really into Sinergia, nice rock with interesting lyrics nothing deep, And Los Bunkers, but i rather prefer the old songs
And i actually like Calle 13's reggaetons, they are the best massive reggaeton group... Daddy yankee is just made to sell reggaeton, Even Don Omar's better
Btw: Gotan project is chilean, just like me

i totally agree.. i like calle 13 too, but i don't think they play reggeton, they are labeled like that because sound a bit like that, but they are more... agressive could be?. and yes, old bunkers are better! with all the fame they have now, they just play for money (that's what i think...)
i'm very happy that in chile are appearing great new bands... i love telerradio donoso, and, even when sinergia is not very new, yes, they have a great style, and funny lyrics

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs did a really great version of La Parte de Adelante, one which i can sing and I don't even know much spanish at all. It's just that good, except the ending. I hate the outro part.
I like some spanish stuff. I like Le Mans a lot, and Nosoträsh, Family, Ibon Errazkin, Aventuras de Kirlian, KIKI D'AKÍ, Ana D some other stuff I can't remember at the moment.
Do you know what people did in the old days when they had secrets they didn't want to share?
They'd climb a mountain, find a tree, carve a hole in it, whisper the secret into the hole and cover it up with mud. That way, nobody else would ever learn the secret...

Isn't Il nino from USA? ._.
Anyway, I don't think I have any spanish music among my favorites except for Mago de Oz. (even though I can barely understand the lyrics... )

About new bands on Chile i rather go with Difuntos Correa xP, more my style...
and Monkeyman has some good songs too... Hope they just don't go to mexico and end up becoming another band from the lot, like it usually happens

I grew up listening to spanish music. I couldn't stand most of it. Except for maybe Los Bukis, Marco Antonio Solis, and Los Tucanes De Tijuana. Other than stuff I was forced to listen to I like Calle 13, Orishas and Kinky.
Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.
