I'm looking for manga (yaoi or shounen-ai) where the seme is poor. Are there any recommendations? I prefer manga that are completed/scanlated or have English version of.

As a rule semes aren't poor. 😃 How about some where they're not as well-off as the uke?

You could try Student / Teacher yaoi where the student is the seme, "Master-Servant Relationship" where the servant is the seme, or "Older Uke Younger Seme".

OK, now I have one.
1-en no Otoko - the seme is a detective who is so poor that he accepts any job, even looking after someone's dog. The uke is a wealthy funds manager. I just read this and all three stories are excellent.
