when looking for the new chapter of meitentei conan i found this one the story its like death note.a very intelligent student who want to change the world cos he think people are unworthy and must be changed the difference is there is no shinigami in this story the art look really alike you think its just light the hero of the story i think this one will turn into a good one but i don't think it will be as successful as death note

Well, with only 1 chapter scanlated so far, it's a bit difficult to say. If anything, it seems like it will be a slightly more realistic, although significantly less original, Death Note. It also seems like it will have less meaningful content (there seem to be very few moral struggles involved- just a bored genius.)

Whatever, in terms of manga about intelligent, self-righteous teenagers trying to take over the world, Code Geass beats both of them in my mind.

It does look a lot like Death Note. But then, everything with similar plot line will look like Death Note to those who read it.
As Crenshinibon said, just the first chapter is scanlated. And while I had this feeling that the plot line was eerily similar to DN's, the main difference is in the characters.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The main character, he's intelligent, popular and all that, yes, but he wants the world to be his from the beginning. Light kind of only wanted to rid the world of criminals in the beginning, didn't he? Then he had this *brilliant* idea to become a god.
And the hypnotist guy. Nothing like Ryuuk, and I think he'll give a hard time to the main 'hero' with that hypnotism thing. They, actually may become enemies.

But it's pure speculation, we'll need to wait for more chapters to say if it's another 'version' of Death Note.

code geass is code geass and this manga is an other thing well its true that its too early to say anything but im optimistic.i think this series will turn into something very interesting.for the moral struggles its just the beginning we shall wait

Eh, just finished reading it. Seems like a lot of the scene were plagiarized off of Death Note (e.g. poses, expressions). I mean, I like the concept of evil geniuses but the plot here also seems really rushed.

Obviously a lot is "borrowed" from Death Note. Whether this will turn into Death Note remains to be seen, since I've only read the first chapter (I did hear from someone who read ch. 2 raw that the second chapter just enforces that similarity, however).

Light and the main character in Lost+Brain are fairly different. The only thing really similar is that they're outstanding students, well-liked, fake appearances to some extent, and have an intensely ambitious side to them. This guy's personality and way of doing things seem different (so far).

The one thing that worries me about this series is that a one-year time skip happened in the first chapter as quick as I could snap my fingers. Not that I expect something from Shounen Sunday to have a lot of chapter depth or a non-linear narrative style, but I hope they don't try to breeze past all that happened in that year they skipped.

Lost + Brain really does resemble Death Note. Wonder if the mangaka knew that when drawing this? Uhm, but it's still interesting, though it never will reach Death Note level...

yeah, i agree... the main character is an exact clone of Yagami Light...although the story's are different and the supporting cast is different...main character and both his goals and personallity are EXACTLY the same............ it could really just be an alternate version of Death Note, but with that aside... i though it was solid, it has potential.....

Yea.. definitely a clone of DN. but hah, it's too early to judge. As ppl say..first impression is always wrong.

if this manga was published earlier than DN, it could have potentially has its own fanbase.

This isn't like Death Note at all.
They share some aspects but the whole idea behind the story is totally different.

So, to anyone who will continue to compare Lost+Brain to Death Note:

Go get raped.
