Happy. I think all shounen should have happy endings.

I mean, they have just so many morals hidden in the plot, having a sad ending would be like saying that a life based in morals is useless in the end.

I never thought of Bleach ending being happy or sad. For me it's either they do whatever they have to or not. It's a shounen, so I don't think we'll get a clear ending. I'm thinking more along the lines of an open ending, where they for example defeat Aizen and then go on with their lives, Ichigo still acting as a substitute shinigami or whatnot.

A satisfying ending.

Happy or sad doesn't do it for me, it has to be satisfying. As long as it's not a rushed ending and thoroughly makes an end, it'll be good enough.

the only ending a shonen story ever has is where the final enemy is defeated and they all go back to exactly the way it was. meaning noone dies, no romances will be further defined and everyone just ends up going to the same school and becomes happy and carefree normal students that kill an occasional hollow. the final scene will probably be ichigo dashing off during the middle of class to kill a hollow.

That would make it typical but not unexpected ending. An original ending would be a surprise to me but a nice one though…
