Basically a manga where the main female character rejects the popular playboy all the other girls drool over and instead likes the cute and laid back nice guy.

An example would be Saruyama! The guy she likes is very much not the popular type nor is he extremely hot. Instead he is cute and nice. Not the tallest or the best looking. Most people call him monkey boy. But she loves him anyway.

So yeah basically something even slightly like that. I just want to see the other guy get the girl.

Others that are kinda similar but not very:
Get Love!! and Lovely Complex (tho for a short guy Otani is popular)

Or a manga with a "cool beauty" type of girl and a funny, nice, and laid back guy.

The woman divorced her playboy ex-husband and ends up with a nice and cute younger guy.

Dice sounds like it might fit. Thanks for that. I read Itadakimasu. Good stuff. It sorta fits too. I read Hana Yori Dango as well. I'm not sure if I'd say it fits exactly because all the guys were pretty popular and everyone wanted them. Still a kinda fun series if you can handle the large amounts of drama. 🤣

It can also be backwards. The popular boy likes the not-so-popular poor girl.

Then it doesn't fit what the topic asked for, because the topic specifically asked for someone else other than the rich, popular guy to end up with the heroine. It doesn't matter if the nice guy x heroine happened in the beginning or the middle, if she ended up with the rich popular guy instead, then it doesn't really fit what the OT was asking for, and would be misleading to other people, since I don't really consider Domyouji as poster candidate for 'kind, nice guy' lol :
