Omg it's beautiful!!! CULTURAL IMPLODE!!! I like learning about people's different cultures. I was beginning to think this thread would never take off, and I'm like "It must be a sensitive subject".
Dude...I have to visit Canada. I mean I know Americans were just voted the funniest nationality but people are so rude down here.
And I'd like to think I pretty well-informed in regards to different cultures but I was excited to find out about the Russian and German ones, especially since I'm a good portion German and I know nothing, I think it's always better when someone can tell you instead of reading it from a book or something.
And Haitians call people gay as an insult too, my mom does it, you have to really piss her off to get her to do that though, I'm going to school you, gay in creole is masisi (MA-SEE-SEE), use it wisely.
I really do swear I'm computer literate.
But I'm gonna go look up what 'upboat' and 'Reddit' are now.

I'm Canadian and live about an hour ouside of Toronto.
-I am getting pretty adept at understanding different accents because of the telemarketers so thats a bonus
-As for the politeness, I noticed it when i went to Sedona, Arizon in May. I opened doors for people, picked things up when people dropped them and kept the elevator open for people and they all looked at me like i fell from the sky.... And here I was thinking i was rude at times.
-I have caught myself saying "eh" so often I don't even count it anymore. Actually when I was in Mexico someone asked if i was Canadian because I said "eh". I didnt here what he said at first so I said "Eh?"
-When its nice outside everyone BBQs. Dont know anyone who doesnt.
-I live in a small city and we have at last count 14 Timmies. I love Timmies. (Tim Hortons, Coffee chain)
-Also yes, most everyone drinks beer and watches hockey.
-Last thing. Snow is evil. Pure white evil.
