Old Spammers vs. New Spammers

New ones trying to imitate the oldies (with or without realizing it)

Old ones comparing their ways with the ways of the new ones and how the old ones were better (less/more disruptive, closer/farther away from breaking rules)

Just a tiny bit of my input! And I really do prefer the old ones...easier to moderate (or maybe just because in the old days, there were less posts to look at)

Yeah, if you get hated by other members, that's not a big deal, but if the admins hate you......then you have some trouble!

Possible permanent banning, or tighter rules......I will be looking my back from now on....

simple...porno surely wasn't side-by-side with the internet when it was first created, but since it [the internet] was discovered by all kinds of people as the portal to the world, stuff like naked pictures or videos of orgasms begin to pop-up due to the public's wide range of interest...the U.S. is definitely not the most stable country in the world...due to the wide range of ethnic groups in the country, there bound to be some major disagreements and contradictions of one culture to another...ultimately, that'd lead to chaos and hatred (gangs, KKK, racism)....

back to the topic of MU, when the forum was first created, the community was much smaller, so therefore, the selection is also smaller and the differences of the members were much less...now that MU has perceived such a large community with so many different members from all around the world, issues caused by clashes of different interests naturally occur....therefore it would be normal to have the perception that there's a lot of hate among the members in the forum....

don't worry, it's perfectly healthy in a big community....would be nice to get less spamming though 😀

I thought I saw xombiemonkey posting quite a bit, but not enough to get to 1447 posts in 45 days...

I've never accomplished over 1000 posts on any forum even after years of visiting one.

On Topic:

This is the internet, you shouldn't take hate so seriously when:

1.Most of it is sarcastic
2.Trolling or other such tactics
3. 😕 ?
4.Profit!

Maybe it's your perception of things too. Sometimes you're in a bad mood and twist it in your mind depending on how you feel. It is said around 9% of what you say is only verbal while the other 91% is in your tone of voice and body language. Some people can use smilies and other stupid stuff but that's all a LIE!!!!

I'm gonna have to go with Aurablaze here cause I'm not gonna lie I haven't really noticed too much hate, and I have had one or two cases where a post that I had intended to be a joke came out as a major burn so I had to edit the post. Everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt though, because frankly I AM a newer member so I dont have to much to compare against.

There really isn't that much hate, only when there's a huge difference of opinions. One example is the "Who dislikes Naruto and Bleach like i do" (created by me unfortunately and in retrospect terrible grammar). That opened an intense pandora's box of hate, flame, and whatnot. Otherwise I find this forum very civil and most of the time helpful.

The only reason why my posts have skyrocketed a little bit recently is because of the music forum. That and I need something to distract me from the wonders of 19th century English poetry/

But back to the lecture at hand, most of the hate that I see is directed from the veterans at the n00bs. I don't really understand it. Usually its the same people too.

I'm wondering how many of the newbies are total newbies (to all fandoms/online communities/etc.) and how many are transitory newbies-meaning that this is a second, third, maybe even more fandom. I think experience definitely effects how a poster acts-for better or worse, depending on a lot of factors.

shrugs The only posters I've really found treating me like a total n00b are the ones who seem to treat almost everyone like idiots.

But I'm sure that topic has invited hate just about every single time it's ever been brought up, since it was first brought up ages ago. Even if somebody who'd been in the fandom a million years had made the mistake of starting that thread (and I've seen fandom vets do stuff like that all the time) it would have become a mess.

I'm also amazed at the 1400+ posts-took me 4 year, lots of spam threads, and plain old loyalty to get 2000 at the first fan forum I ever joined.
