I read a hella lot of fanfiction, and I was wondering if there were any other addicts around.

For those who don't know, fanfiction is just what it sounds like: Fiction written by fans using their favorite characters and settings from canon. There are huge amounts of fanfiction relating to the manga and anime genre, as well as popular books, movies, and TV shows.

Two popular sites for fanfiction are fanfiction.net and, my personal fav, adultfanfiction.net.

If you are a fan, what do you like to read? I, as "resident shotokon" fan, of course love the typical fandoms promoting boysmex, like NaruSasu - 'cause Sasuke is such an uke! - and countless others. (If you're a fan, you must read the wonderful Hestia-sama's latest work, if you haven't already!) *drools all over keyboard*

sry, dislike those amateurs made storys.......don't wanna read how two 15y-girlys jumping throught middleearth and kidnapp Legolas and Aragorn...........or Harry Potter as dark goth vampire, involves in a sex affair with snape and malfoy........

too much lemon or orange or freaking banana (and why friuts?)

I think the novelist and mangaka know what's gonna on, nobody can reach their ideas.......drawing-style yes, ideas of storyline no.

i read final fantasy fanfics from fanfiction.net
even though they're written bad still it's still fun to read them.
i like how they develop their storys and plot.

I voted no, but I actually do read some non H-Doujinshi's (I'm not sure if they count as fanfiction or not though). Only the funny ones, closer to parodies than actual "fanfiction", those that try to make a serious story are just incredibly boring, imho, and show a total lack of originality.

I've read two fanfics, one just text & one manga-style, and...I'm stopping at two. (~_~)

They weren't terrible, but there are a lot of other things I'd rather spend my time reading.

Read it and write it.

I don't do much of either of those anymore, though.

I was an addict, but lately I've just been too lazy to read laugh
I'm too busy watching anime and reading manga, and then that whole "social life" thing I got going on bigrazz
I just don't have the time anymore sad But I even used to write!!! (That's how obsessed I was with Gravitation)
I seriously have over a hundred on my favorites and alert lists on my ff.net account...!!! dead
I like to read Gravitation, Loveless, FAKE, FMA, xxxHOLiC, Bleach, X, and Sukisyo fanfics with the occasional Tsubasa and OHSHC one on ff.net.
I'm not a big fan of slash; I prefer the real couples like EirixShuichi or RitsukaxSoubi. There are only a few I'm "okay" with, like RoyxEd (it's pretty much a classic), TamakixKyouya, and WatanukixDoumeki, or pretty much any pairings in Bleach and Gravitation. When it comes to OHSHC though, I'm a fan of the Hitachiincest laugh
When I read X fanfics, it has to be any of the combinations of these four: Kamui, Fuuma, Subaru, and Seishirou smile

Fanfiction can get so addicting...!!! dead I don't really read fanfics for the boysmex though. If it has a lemon, then fine, but I actually prefer them without smile

The only reason I read (wtf? "manga-style fanfiction"; it has a name people T.T--->) doujinshi is because it's by my favorite author, but I don't go searching for dj, well, unless I heard it's really good biggrin

What was your first fanfiction? Mine was this amazing FMA one on Quizilla biggrin (don't read there anymore though)

S'all good, I think it just sounds really funny for something that's so important smile (well, sort of) After all, CLAMP began as doujinshi artists!!! (Would that mean they used to be "doujinshi-ka"? confused)

;-; Fanfiction has eaten away most of my life since last year. Seriously, though; it even causes me to procrastinate on sleep.

I normally hang around fanfiction.net, but I go to adultfanfiction.net sometimes, too. I just wish that aff.net had a better search system. The new way to browse certain types of fanfiction that was introduced to ff.net not too long ago (the one where you can choose the length and main characters before searching) is love.

It's so pathetic. I got an ff.net account just so I could use the favourite's list to monitor updates, and I have over 300 stories on it.

Meh, I normally stick to Naruto (NaruSasuNaru shtuff, mostly; I don't really care about who's the uke and whatnot), but I've been dabbing into FullMetal Alchemist and Harry Potter ones recently (I think the HP ones are the only ones that I don't like pairings for; I just like lots of angst). And Harry Potter <insert anime here> crossovers are always amusing to read (if they're written well enough, of course). Oh, and if anyone has any good Hikago fanfics that are Akira/Hikaru or Hikaru/Akira, please let me know. ;-; There are so few~

I hate to admit it but I do read a lot of fanfics. Mostly doujinshi.
I did read some "text only" fanfics but the writing style wasn't always to my liking and besides, I needed to agree with the direction the plot was taking in those (not too sure I'm being clear here).
As for doujinshi, I put the entire responsibility on MU for listing them. I began by trying to find those drawn by a mangaka I liked, and ended up downloading the whole content of some doujin sites... dead

The SasuNaru site was one of these.

i also read fanfiction for some of the previous completed manga that ended aruptly, unsatisfying, or just too good to have an ending...some examples would be - hana yori dango, mars, chrno crusade (the anime), vampire game...fanfiction.net is an awesome site....i've read a huge fanfiction about FFVIII there....and there're such talented writers, too....i've ran into lots of situations where i wanted some of the fanfictions to be illustrated and published into real manga volumes, 'cause sometimes they're even better than the real deal biggrin

I was unsatisfied with Ichigo 100%'s ending(and quite depressed about it too), so i went to fanfics for...comfort biggrin There was one really good one called "Ichigo 100 percent Atarashii Gakusei" which is a continuation of the manga and manaka does get together with Nishino
Spoiler (highlight to view)
but then she dies and Aya takes her place bigrazz

Too bad the author didn't finish it. Some douchebags were complaining that he made it an action type story even though it was actually good -__-

It was so long ago that I can't recall the very first - but it was probably something by Jade in the Gundam Wing fandom that got me hooked on boysmex.

The first really excellent fanfic that I read was the Draco Trilogy by Cassandra Claire in HP-verse...but I just looked it up for the spelling of the last name and found it is no longer available....

She went pro, it seems.

So, as it is proven, there are *really* good fanfics out there by super great authors who just haven't been published yet. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in a fan's depiction of characters that the lines blur a bit between fandom and canon. lol

But otakubaybay & xObscurexOmenx - you must read this. OMG so steamy. DON'T CLICKY NON-YAOI FANS...or do...lol. ;)
