I knew Gin's Ban Kai would be disappointing, cant expect much from Kubo now.
Besides Isshin the best part of the chapter was Gin calling Ichigo creepy.

Like most of you, I'm guessing that Gin's bankai can do more than this. It would be fairly pointless otherwise. A while back, Ichigo's father said that captains control their zanpakuto so that they are small. If they didn't do this, every captain level soul reaper would carry around a sky-scraper....which is basically what Gin is now calling his bankai. But, that statement was made more than 100 chapters ago, so Tite has, no doubt, forgotten all about it.
I am just curious here, but how many people are reading this manga because they still enjoy it? And, how many people are reading this manga just because they feel like they have to finish it? reading to finish. Stopped enjoying bleach after orihime was kidnapped. I thought to myself didn't they just finish saving someone. I wouldn't have minded if bleach continued after soul society but all kubo did was replace rukia with orihime. And yeah Gin's bankai not so awesome. What would have been awesome would be if he sliced ichigo in half with it from a few miles away rather than swing it at him so he could stop it. 😔

On another note, did anyone find it strange that Gin still calls Aizen, "Captain Aizen"? I'm not sure if he has been doing this all along during the Hueco Mundo and Karakura arcs or not, but maybe this actually means he is still tied down to the Gotei 13 system mentally and emotionally. Or maybe I am just over thinking things =\
Nah, its like the "Onii-saan" thingie you see in some incest hentai: its their private role play XD
Anyway, whats the point in having a 13km long blade 😕
Felt like he HAD to say whats so "special" about his bankai cause he never got the chance/was asked, really o.o

I think we all are disappointed cuz we are trying to read between lines and see something there... like "hmmm, kubo's gonna do this maybe with this character" and then we find out that we were expecting something on the same level as in first volumes... but... no. he'll just do something totaly... off! and i think "what the heck?!"
more i read it, more convinced i am that this is gonna end up.... like a one big dissapointment. and that's so...siiiiiiiigh

This should be a poll topic. In fact, to heck with it. I'm making a poll on this subject.
For the record, my answer is b.

Was it just me or did ichigo stopped gin's bankai with his bare hand? Now I know ichigo is powerful, just never knew Gin's captain power level was so freakin weak. Maybe he still has few tricks left up his sleeves, though I pretty much doubt it. Like I mentioned in 398 post, this fight is just too random.

Lol cant blame you, Kubo is a mess lately. No, Strawberry has blocked with his sword, helping with one arm to the side.

I don't really understand why people would even bother reading a manga they don't like. What a waste. And when there's so many other ones you could be reading and liking too. 🤨
Granted, I don't think Bleach is the best series ever but I enjoy it enough to read it every week. But then, unlike some people, when I'm reading a shounen manga I usually don't set my bar up too high.

I remember reading somewhere that Gin has a similar stat distribution (forgive the use of rpg term here) to Byakuya (not including any possible hollow powers). If that's the case then technically Ichigo right now should be able to handle Gin considering he did alright against Byakuya ages ago.

If you're referring to Kubo's inability to create a cohesive sotryline then yes he's a mess. However his art has always been good. Actually I'll be more specific his character designs are very good, the fight sequences are now consistently good (he was a bit messy before, especially during Shunsui vs Stark, wow that was a complete mess, but now it's miles better). However he does omit backgrounds altogether in some of his panels which is a bit lazy. One thing I do give him credit for is his ability to show scale, particularly when showing how big Yammy was when he released and just now when showing off Gin's bankai slicing all those buildings in half.
