im mostly an rpg gamer so has to be the story. speaking of story, what happened in devil may cry 2 and 3? I only played 1 and I just received my devil may cry 4 with nero as the main character?

I'm more of an RPG gamer as well but...Games are called games for a reason. It has to play well. ^^; So I choose gameplay.

A game with no sound, story and poor graphics will still be a game. But a story/graphic creation/music without gameplay will never be a game.

I vote gameplay but It should have a good story as well as graphics and music if possible.
In my mind, .hack//G.U. is the ideal kind of game.

Gameplay is the definitely the most important. It's the thing that makes a game what it is though the other aspects are important as well.

I think, like many other people, that gameplay is the most important aspect of a game. Even if the game has the best story, graphics and sound but has bad gameplay that game wouldn't be fun to play.
I think that story and sound are also very important for a game.
Graphics however are not that important. There are lots of games that have bad graphics compared to todays standards but they are excellent games because of the other 3 aspects.
