No, I don't mean in a Catholic Priest sort of way, I mean in an emotional and profound sort of way. The kind of manga that...

You finish reading the manga.
You lean back in your chair.
And you stare blankly into the wall amazed by what you just read.

For me it was undoubtedly Nijigahara Holograph.

Picking just one...
The first thing that sprang to mind at the word 'touched' was
24 colors

If the word had been 'profound' instead, I would probably say
Bitter Virgin

(for now - I can't say I was utterly amazed by either one. I haven't been utterly amazed by any of them yet. It takes a lot...)

Once I looked at the name of the thread, I knew someone would type something like that in here...

Anyway, my choices are I"s and Onani Master Kurosawa.

Perhaps Pieta...it was rather short, but it definitely left an impression.

Aside from that, definitely Kagen no Tsuki. Blew me away.

Excellent choice there. Definitely among the best possible, I'd probably pick the same.

Others include Majo and maybe Monster, though in retrospect I'm not nearly as enamored of it.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

White Clouds 😢 Even though it's short, it's really good.

I also have to say Onani Master Kurosawa. It was kind of short but told a very personal and unique story. It is easily one of the best mangas I have read in a while.

I have yet to find a manga that has had that sort of effect on me.
It's probably because I read lots of comedy XD

Yes. Absolutely. I never bother to read manga that don't have some depth or impressiveness, so a fair amount of what I've read has had that effect on me, but the one that touched me the most was Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. I read it for the first time when I was 11, wandering the internet for information on my then-favorite, Aria. I suppose I was always inclined to like those sorts of quiet, thoughtful works, but YKK really changed how I look at the world and how I feel toward life in general. It's absolutely beautiful in its mono no aware and simplicity. Both.
