Description
From Storm in Heaven:

Mizuki is a girl who wants to run away from her life. As she smiles at everything sad that happens to her, her soul becomes heavier day by day. Her escape door is Adam, an English singer. But is he really real, or is everything they've been through just a dream? Adam sees his dead Japanese girlfriend in Mizuki, but strangely, nobody, apart from a girl who met her at the gates of heaven, can see Mizuki. This is a story that takes place somewhere between dream and reality.

An original masterpiece by AbbyAW on August 29th, 2009, 1:25am

This was a wonderful manga by yazawa ai. I have enjoyed reading her works after i discovered nana. Yet out of all her works that i read so far none of them has touched me the way this one did. Even though it is sad it is not as tragic as her other works and made me feel...tranquil. It started perfectly and ended great. I'm happy to have stumbled upon this because this story really had me thinking and i could truly empathize with the plot. It has its beautiful and tearful moments and i recommend it. This is one of the few manga i have enjoyed to read and one that has truly touched my heart. pure brilliance. Oh...if only it gave some kind of future hint on what would happen with the kids.....

Good Enough by rebeccasuzanne on July 16th, 2009, 7:57pm

Not my favorite and not the worst, I enjoyed the story, it was short and sweet. I figured it out waay before the characters did but it was entertaining enough. I might just be partial to Yazawa Ai.

Truly Beautiful Story by imp4ever on July 3rd, 2009, 7:40am

One of the most absolutely touching manga I've ever read. I guess you could call it bittersweet, but to be honest, I'd say it was a little bitter and a little sweet, as in separate things. Though I'm sure that doesn't explain much XP

At first, it might be a bit tough to follow, although it didn't feel confusing to me, just foggy and unclear. Then as the pieces come together, it becomes something of a mystery, psychological, drama.

But seriously, I loved the expression of human emotion and mostly relations. The love story was beatiful, the family story a little sad, and the story of the kids just plain cute. And the art was good on top of that! No flaws in my eyes.

so sad and... just different in a good way by elalendi on March 12th, 2009, 4:22pm

It has a hauntingly sad feel to it. The story was so realistic and moving, I didn't cry but my heart was aching for the characters. In the beginning I didn't care to read this because the art looked bad, but the art actually turned out to be really nice and the plot was definitely good enough. It's not too long, so I highly recommend it for anyone hungry for a bittersweet, deep love story (it's got mystery, cute fluffy moments, and humor too).

One of few mangas that I will always remember.. by pandora on November 23rd, 2008, 2:24pm

This manga truly touched something in my heart.. it wasnt typical in the slightest.. and still kept the romance in it. I didnt lose my interest even for a second till the end, and when it ended it left me thinking about it endlessly.. I think that every person could relate a bit of this manga to himself and that this manga is a little masterpiece.. a little miracle that any of us should experience.

This should be considered as 'physcological' too by MissRaw on August 29th, 2008, 1:07am

It's not as confusing as other people say it may be if you read it thoroughly. It's good... very good, and I love Ai Yazawa's work. She is an incredible mangaka and she really inspires me.

This has a unique way of viewing the after life, heaven, hell, and apparitions. I liked how the ending isn't as sugarcoated, but rather a bitter-sweet closing to the whole manga. Adam gets to speak and it definitely answered some of the questions I had.

Sometimes I wonder how Ms. Yazawa got all these ideas because they're just so unique. All of her works are amazing, and she definitely is my favorite manga artist and author. I love her.

good by Dagorkitty on July 21st, 2008, 5:40pm

I really liked this manga, it has a really good plot, it has the type of thing that I like. I loved the way in which the reader is able to connect all the parts of the puzzle that is the plot. It's main focus is on the main character, Mizuki, but it has other side stories that go along and that let you have a breath from the pretty deep story.

What I found most amusing about it was how it was written, because the author changes the narrators through out the work making it so that the audience can see the story from almost every point of view. I found it really easy to recognize which of the characters was talking in each moment, I think that it's really amazing, because in many other mangas i have read I really don't get what's going on. Though, i'm not sure if it's just me, because I read some other comments in which they said that they didn't get what was going on, but I understood it completely and even was able to guess what was going to happen (that didn't took my excitement to wonder what was going to happen).

Talking about something else, I have to say that the art is pretty good, well, I guess that depends on each taste, but I have always loved Ai Yazawa's drawings, I think they go with the atmosphere of her mangas in general.

I cried a lot while reading this manga, not a surprise because I almost always cry with shoujo and josei, but it is remarkable that this manga got to me really early in the story. Most of the time i feel touched when i have been reading a long time, but in this case Yazawa manages to connect you to the main character, Mizuki, much earlier.

To end this I would like to say the ending is good and goes with the plot, but a would have liked to see a bit further in the future to know what happened to the characters after everything was over, though that gives the reader the possibility to imagine what the most probable ending is.

P.S: sorry if i wrote "I" too many times. bigrazz

A Supernatural Masterpiece by Twilight_Moon on May 13th, 2008, 6:21pm

Yazawa has crafted another beautiful story. The fantasy plot joins many issues of life into the story in a graceful manor. It's a story that may rival ParaKiss, and others of Yazawa's works. Yazawa has this beautiful gift to craft words into a intricate soliloquy and carry it to a poetic level in which everyone will interpert it differently.

Highly recommended ~

A masterpeace definately by sandsoftime on February 9th, 2008, 8:41pm

To say I like it is to say nothing it's 6 am and I just ended the story. It's just brilliant and not the trivial subject SPOILER

I think the mangaka did a great job with the end. The better ending would definately ruin the story and such bitter sweet story doesn't need it. I wish the has more sach mangas it;s the best
