Manga creator Hiroya Oku (Gantz, HEN) recently posted on his Twitter account that his Inuyashiki manga will run for 10 volumes. He also stated that he was drawing the manga at great cost, and estimates that each volume would have to sell 190,000 copies for him to turn a profit, but that he would continue to draw it. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-03-24/hiroya-oku-inuyashiki-manga-planned-for-10-volumes/.86310
its cold down here fam ~
I also found the cost aspect to be VERY interesting as that was the reason why he killed 01 (OKU Hiroya) (5/10 - but i had fun even if it went nowhere) and probably Me-Teru no Kimochi (4/10 - that ending 🤢 ) when i read this yesterday. He still hasn´t made money from the series to my knowledge but it is coming to america (where it is destined to flop).
I wish him luck and am glad that he is sticking to his guns as Inuyashiki is only his 2nd good manga but i will admit that Oku as a man of principals as he just does whatever he wants. For good or bad. Check it out but it has gotten really dark (drugs + gore + rape) so be prepared and Gantz phase 4 is becoming more and more of a probability it seems.
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.
