Remember that snafu that happened last month, where Mangadex and scanlators were busy throwing each other under the bus because of money? Turns out it wasn't something to be ignored: New affiliate, MangaPlus support, infrastructure upgrades and supporter features!
MangaPlus support
We also have another announcement to make regarding a new site feature.
MangaPlus is the official aggregator of Shonen Jump and Shueisha. The chapters they publish are completely free for everyone to read. We've decided to support them by linking to their chapters on our own series listings. The chapters will redirect you to the MangaPlus website to read the chapter, but you can still comment on the chapter here on MangaDex in our chapter threads. Please shower them with your continued support!
We aren't in any way affiliated with MangaPlus nor were we asked to do this.
We may choose to support other free publishers in the future, but it would require users to assist us with the chapter submissions. M+ will be our trial run.
Before someone gives the song dance of this being a chance to "support the industry" and/or "It's free anyway, so there isn't any money that can be gained from this", remember two things: (1) we know exactly what happened with Crunchyroll and Fakku (Both pirate sites that went "legit" ), and (2) NOTHING IS EVER "FREE".
My favorite part in all this insane rambling is the Crunchyroll link dedicated to the verbal diarrhea of known anti-semite Kazuyoshi Yaginuma. Cuz that´s THE person you want to go to bed with to spruce up your argument that licensing manga/anime is secretly hurting the industry.
Let´s see how long this thread will rage until it gets locked.
Edit: His hero Kazuyoshi Yaginuma was thrown of twitter and other sites for being a literal Neo-Nazi. His career seems dead. There is justice after all 🙂 .

Let me see if I'm understanding this correctly: You're saying that I shouldn't believe the statements (About the Japanese animation industry) that are coming from a man (Who has worked in the Japanese animation industry for over 30 years and has produced and directed some of the highest acclaimed and award winning projects such as Akira, Nadia, and Netojuu no Susume) because he makes unrelated statements that are common in every part of the world that isn't the U.S., Canada, or Europe? In other words, I shouldn't listen to the accusations made by a successful Japanese man because he makes unrelated political statements that are not uncommon in Japan? Should it also be mentioned that Japan is one of several Asian countries that actually uses Mein Kampf as teaching material in schools, or that the manga adaptation was a complete hit in the country?
Also, despite all this being said, does this change the current situation in any way? Take your criticism to the Crunchyroll thread since that seems to be where you issues are. The point of this thread is to discuss about how Mangadex actually is going legit. And, you attempting to derail the discussion like this makes it seem like this is a topic that you don't want people to discuss.
This is a resurrected thread by the OP that lambchopsil himself had to close last month for the uninitiated. My opinion can be found there (Mangadex is barely a year old, lol).
Transdude1996 couldn´t help himself to let sleeping dogs lie and thank Zodd for that. I laid the bait and bite he did 😀 . Here you go, ladies and gentleman. Our esteemed OP is a WW2 truther and holds sweeping racist viewers towards Japanese society:

Thank god for Jim Sterling when you go to sleep tonight but don´t forget to thank me too. I catfished a Neo-Nazi!
PS: Japan houses multiple Holocaust museums. One of them in Hiroshima. I wonder why there...
Look up Chiune Sugihara too. The State of Israel itself basically sainted him.
