Wasn't sure it was clear from the questions or responses but I remember when I first tried reading berserk, I was first a bit taken aback by the very first chapter, which opens with a (very short and mild) sex scene. After that, the main character was raped early in the flashback... And that made me stop reading. So I thought that early scene should also be brought to attention.
I was, perhaps, a bit young to be reading it at 14 years old though. I came back to Berserk a few years later and really liked it. And I think the rest has been dealt with by others above.
how very true
usualy ppl get hung up on caska being raped
but our main hero got raped as early as in vol1?2? [sold by his own father noless] and his horrible circumstances at that time should have scared him more...i guess men that get betrayed by everyone and sexually abused as children just grows up as superior warriors
but casca being female cant handle it...of course...japan...you did it again

You're wrong on at least two accounts. First of all, it wasn't Guts' father - just a random soldier who had picked him up as a servant boy for himself. And in Casca's case,
she was violated by the essense of pure evil. Furthermore, she carried its seed inside her for quite some time. It was the demonic essense of Femto that destroyed her mind, and not the fact of rape itself.

I thought..
that the demon baby was guts' son and was only tainted by griffith.
anyway its still worth the read, after the initial "bad" events
once when he was a boy and that one with casca, doesn't really have any rage moments just pure evil. unlike wolfguy, that really induces a lot of rage. it should be smooth sailing after that. so you should really continue reading.
though after reaching the latest volumes you'll experience a different kind of problem..

Although it's been a while...
I still love this manga, even though we'll probably all be dead by the time it's completed by the author.
Anyways, to answer the rape question, without, er, too much spoiling...
Yes, there's rape. It's pretty, um, how to say, "realistic". It's not just "bf fucks gf she screams no but then they fall in love" sort of thing. There's nothing of the kind in this manga.
And to be very close to spoiling the entire thing, read only if you want to know, srlsy, don't read if you don't want to know:
They're both raped, actually. Guts by some soldier dude and Caska by Griffith. Pretty messed up stuff. Griffith also sells his ass to some rich guy to gain power and whatnot.
since im a little hestitant about reading this manga(mainly because its ongoing) i'll drop a question too
if the answer to the above question is yes, did it happen because the female main character is too wussy/annoying/stupid/dumb?
Not at all.
She's regarded as a strong warrior.
Though we do get a bit of menstrual pain related weakness. X3
The problem is that she goes nuts after being raped...
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.

Yes, it was. I never said anything that would contradict that.
Do you think that child could be considered anything but Femto's after the corruption?

yes, there is a reason why it follows guts and even protected casca and guts.
Somethings cannot be unseen... a little spoiler of a rape scene later on in the story (as a heads up of what to expect):
Guts and his ragtag shounen-style groupies once came upon a village in which trolls kidnapped the women and raped them. That's not the disturbing part though. The disturbing part is that some of the women got pregnant and the troll babies literally clawed their way out of the womb. I think Guts get raped by some evil tentacle chick soon after that. This is as bad as it gets though... As others mentioned before, most of the rape scenes aren't some herpderp emotional plawt-twist, and is more of a realistic display of what goes on in war...

It's clear of corruption by that point, as Femto had already been reborn as Griffith. Any further discussion on this will be off-top (not like it wasn't from the start...) so if there are any details on my view you want cleared, please PM me instead.
And yes, MewMan. As far as I know, I am.

normally i wouldnt ask for spoilers but since this looks like it wont be finished(atleast not in the next few years) i have another question
so the girl goes nuts after being raped, so i assume the relationship deteriorates and never goes back to normal? and does she ever go back to her senses? if she doesnt then does she no more play an active part in the story ?

It hasn't been resolved as of yet. One of the main objectives of the main character and his 'party' at this point are getting some help with returning the female lead to her senses.

Well the rape element only help to support your reasoning to hate the villain more. Out of the 325 chapters so far, I only recall rape scenes occurring few and far between.
