Definitely British English, and it's because of the accent.

Somehow british pronunciation is standard in the Russian educational system. That makes my american accent (taken from Cartoon Network in childhood) sort of stand out.

British does sound cool, though. I hope to eventually learn to mock it at a good level. That, of course, includes learning all the cool British slang forms.

Well, being from Britain, I speak British. I have little insight into American slang, and I don't imagine a lot of people in other countries know how people really speak here 'on the streets' either. xD Theres a lot of false stereotypes to get past.

I remember looking at a table of regular word comparisons and from that standpoint, I prefer British. xD

Um...there is no single "British accent", any more than there is a single "American accent".

Watch some Monty Python & pay attention, and you will hear quite a variety of accents depending on the location, social class, occupation, etc. (Of course, since the Pythons were imitating most of them rather than being native speakers, I wouldn't be surprised if they're a bit "off" - when they play Americans it always sounds just a bit odd to me, though it's hard to pinpoint just what it is.) The Queen's English is quite different from Cockney, for example.

The US also has a variety of accents - compare natives of New Jersey, California, and Louisiana, and they will all sound quite different.

I speak "standard American English" I suppose (no particular accent), but I love British English & the various accents. 😃

I like "British English" if you're just asking about slang and the like... And the same can be said for the accents; I know there isn't a single one, but the ones I have heard all are pretty amazing.

Kinda depressing, since I speak basically un-accented American English... Sigh.

But I don't like British grammar at all, but I have a feeling it's only because I was raised with American grammar, so it makes more sense to me. I just can't bear seeing someone type like "this". I dunno why; it's just one of those things I'm obsessive about...

What about the Australian accent?
The Canadian accent is pretty much the same as American but Australian English is awesome. The Indian English is hilarious too if you can pull it off.
One of my friends can pretty much do all of the English accents, including the Irish...
(dunno about Scottish as Irish and Scottish is all the same to me...)

British English. IT REMINDS ME OF THE HUNT! Tip tap jolly tally-hoe fish n' chips & all that.

Anyone heard of mediocre Filipino English that sounds like caveman English in modern times? I should know, 'cause I hear it almost every other day of my life -.-
