Besides, apparently I become incredibly irritable/pissed if I go for too long without sleep (past the drowsy stage, not quite at hallucinations yet), and no amount of good food will fix that. Although, from what my friends say, even a 10 minute nap improved my mood considerably.

I always choose to sleep. There have been a handful of times when I've woken up with a hunger headache, though, which does kinda force me to eat. Then it's back to sleep I go.

I would sleep first. Then, when I wake up feeling ravenous I will gorge myself till I am full and have a better meal than I would have had if I had eaten first.

What i'd do is find some high calorie, low choking risk snack to eat (that would preferably not stain my clothes). Then fall asleep eating it.
