A scenario like this

Hana wa Saku ka would probably fit scenario number 3
it's not completely scanlated, but the story is moving along very slowly, at this rate I don't know if they'll actually get to first base at all lol
hope this is your cup of tea

Oooh, this is a really nice one! I just read the raws a couple of days back; and don't worry, cookieslov3, they get there towards the last part of book 2 😉
Until the end of vol. 3 (going by the Chinese scans) it isn't yaoi -- and I hope things stays that way. HwSk is too darn sweet and the characters are too nice to be wasted on smut! 😐

Hana wa Sakuka is very...romantic; and thankfully not in the annoying, sappy way so common to BL - but in the nice, sweet way. Is Youichi the definition of tsundere or what?!
Anyway, I really liked it - so thank you cookieslov3 for the rec, and calstine for the extra info!
And yeah, I'm also rather interested in the side characters. They're quite cute in their own way, and Takeo is especially nice. I've always rather liked the 'big brother' type LOL.
And is it just me, or is Shouta a little too annoyed by Fujimoto's attempts to hit on Youichi? sly smile
@calstine; You've seen the raws for vol. 3, right? What do you think? And if we go by the whole umbrella scene in the extra chapter...But I'm probably wrong; since I can't read Chinese at all, I had no idea what the heck they were actually saying <_<

Well...it's possible, I guess. Personally, I'm not a fan of the "sharing an umbrella with someone means you're romantically interested in them" concept because it's utter BS (pardon my language ^^), but romance /BL /GL mangaka seem to love that silly trope and use it quite often. Considering the obvious allusions made with the fact that Sakurai was holding the umbrella for Youichi and Fujimoto for Shouta while Takeo wasn't sharing with anyone kind of seems to hint at that sort of thing in the future. And since almost all of Hidaka Shoko's manga (but I haven't read them) seem to feature a tsundere as one half of the couple (Shouta is always arguing with Fujimoto, so....), it seems likely.
I hope that relationship stays in the subtext region, though. I don't particularly enjoy BL (or GL) with more than one canon same-gender couple (note that: only canon - there can be as many subtextual couples as the author wants and I wouldn't care lol). It's a little silly when every single person ends up being gay or bi, isn't it? 🤣

I just noticed - that extra was for the drama CD, right? So maybe we shouldn't take it too seriously after all sheepish grin
But the "umbrella scenario" really is stupid. It makes me laugh every time I see it!

I totally agree! BL mangaka take unrealism to absurd levels (I mean, BL is unrealistic anyway, but for our willing suspension of disbelief to be strained that much is rather a tall order >_<) For example, series like Mainichi Seiten! make me wince. It's all the worse when they belong to the same family -- I don't mind as much if they're just acquaintances or something; birds of a feather flock together, after all 🤣

Try reading Illumination and Touch Me Again by YAMASHITA Tomoko, they`ve left a good impression for me.
