Not surprising this happened, but will this site close down too? This site should be safe since it's only a database of existing manga, right? Time to start irc again I suppose...

MangaUpdates provides information about manga and websites and that's is not illegal. So stay strong as we have right to information that you provide and you don't have copyright material that they can use against you unless they start about coverart image.

After taking online viewer one by one, would they also expand their (evil) agenda by huntings the scanlation group?

Don't think so, these websites contain DDL to licensed manga too, i doubt they try to close every scanlation griup expecially ones with no licensed manga in the west.

I hate the direction this is heading in. Mangareading as we know it will be gone if this continues.

Mangaupdates should be safe, but I advice you remove all direct links to licensed manga. If mangaupdates goes one of the main strongholds of the worlds scanlation scene will be gone.

what about the other manga websites!? They won't close, will they!?
Also, does anyone know where the OM scans will go to!? Maybe they will be donated to MF!?

Don't even suggest it. why would this site close? it's nothing more than database website so why should it?
