well, the root cause of global warming is human stupidity. prolly not stupidity but assertiveness and curiosity of the human race. and since we're at the time where science and technology flourish, everything is almost possible. also because of this, a negative thing - such as the world's end - is possible.

Assertiveness and curiosity of the human race is also stupidity; humans being stupid about not leaving things well enough alone and ignorance. Everyone's pretty much stupid since no one knows AND understand everything. Many think they know and understand but we really don't. It's really just a matter of how stupid humans are in the end and the less stupid ones are recognized as "smart" (most aren't smart really, they're just better at recalling memories).

Human stupidity pretty much sums up everything in the world, we've gotten this far because of stupidity and we'll end it all with stupidity too. 😐

The world, as in, my world? Our world? Or the Earth itself? I'm pretty sure we're talking about the Earth here. Then, it will never end. Mere humans can't destroy it. We are only stupid because of the opinions of other humans...we created the meaning, the word...who is stupid once we've all died out? That will happen far before the "world" ends. More intelligent creatures will have taken our place, or possibly the Earth will change to the point where life is not a possibility 😐

If anything, rocks from space. Yep. Those buggers will definitely do some damage to the Earth, and over time...it might become too small of a target, but like I said, Earth will prevail, and humans will definitely not destroy the Earth all by ourselves.

Sort of like ants, we are. So many of them, but they're really small compared to us, aren't they? It's no harder for them to be killed than for us to be. If we were to kill them all, the Earth would definitely change, but it would evolve~

Humans aren't capable of predicting such things anyway 😮 We're so, so young. We can't even comprehend how long the Earth has been here, we can't understand such a length of time...Ah, well, as long as there are humans, there is a world, right? That is to say, the Earth dies when we all do, doesn't it? That is a little egotistical. The "Earth" doesn't need what we need to survive. Therefore, "world" is as in ''our world'', right? Not the Earth...how we as a race will die? I never understand these things >:-(

If an asteroid doesn't hit the earth it'll probably be global warming, I think.

I do believe something will happen in 2012 but nobody can say what it is or if it will even happen. It's like guessing what will happen the next day, you'll never know.

The personally think lack of water will probably eventually be an issue if people don't start thinking that they shouldn't be overpopulating the world. But I think ultimately if the world will end it will have to be due to an Entropy crisis, a point at which energy on earth and the sun is so diluted due to constant increase in disorder that there will be no single source of energy big enough to start providing electricity, and then things will eventually go downhill from there. And yes the Sun will eventually expand as it starts to fusion heavier metals, become a Red Giant and consume the first 4 planets? (not sure about this number). Then it will collapse and just form a white dwarf.

This is all talking about in billions or years though, so I'm not concerned with either.

There are many possible ways, but I tend to lean more towards humans wiping out most lifeforms over a conflict, an asteroid, or a fast spread fatal epidemic.
