Do they exist? I can't think of one right now, exept maybe Star Blacks... Well, maybe not exactly satisfactory that one when i think about it. Then I got nothing.

Edit: And I do mean ending, not "setup for a possible continuation".

Good Ending - has a fairly rushed ending IMO. There's a slow lead up, then it's over in about 3-4 chapters with everything wrapped up pretty nicely.

Ugh, what's depressing is that most manga I read haven't ended yet, or I have dropped them in the middle.

One manga I think might fit the bill is Zombie Powder which was ended when Kubo Tite had a health problem of some sort (I think). Zombie Powder had many loose ends that hadn't been resolved yet, but it was in danger of being drawn out and more meandering than it already was, and I found the end of the last arc actually much more satisfying than many other manga's proper endings.

'not "setup for a possible continuation"'?

Thats pretty much impossible since every (non-'and then the universe ended') ending has a "setup for a possible continuation" depending on where the author wants to take the story. Hell, if the author wanted to, they could always turn the story into a "slice of life" where the characters settle down into a 9-to-5 domestic lifestyle after saving the world/finally recognizing their feelings for each other.

After shock of finding Mx0 axed after reading almost all of it and few others similar I started filtering out axed manga. I hate it when it doesn't get resolved thus I don't really believe there are those that are as satisfying as they would be had they been properly finished.

There's Phoenix
Although it's more due to Osamu Tezuka having died that it was axed. Considering it basically writes out all of human history, perhaps it's better that it wasn't finished.

About the "setup for a possible continuation"- thing. What I meant was
"no shameless cliffhangers just for the sole cause of getting people to beg for a sequel when it really should end" or something like that 😀 . What i am asking about is mangas with cliffhangers/lose threads and whatnot because of cancelations, ill authors and such things that still manages to pull off some sort of ending that makes you feel somwhat satisfied. Does that clarify things? 🙂

Oh well in that case, Mx0 ranks up there.

Magico was 'kinda' satisfactory, considering the sheer number of plot hooks that were introduced but never got around to.
