Description
A follow-up to a heavy response to the original yomi-kiri manga by the same title, published 4 months ago.

Good ending follows the main character Utsuki 's interactions with Kurokawa Yuki, a member of the school tennis team, in order for Utsuki to confess his feelings to the captain of the tennis team.

It is implied that the title of the manga is derived from the "good endings" that are achieved in visual novels.

Although the story was once concluded in the yomi-kiri version, the full version includes identical characters and settings.

potential to be a classic by Hell_Clues on October 29th, 2009, 4:40pm

This series has a strong start. I´m upto chapter seven and the only complaint I have is the cliche ending to that specific chapter. It´s such a false start.

But that aside, the writer has skill in working within the confines of what you´d traditionally expect from a shounen romance while clearly standing out. the characters are like 80 percent real, and only 20 percent cliche. You can say the same for development. Half of the advice is fairly good while some of it seems a bit diluted or worded with a manga cliche in mind.

nice plot... by genre001 on October 26th, 2009, 3:10am

at the beginning, one would think of manga like Ichigo 100%, or Suzuka. but as the story progress, you can at the very least distinguish the difference. though still on the chapter 7, but the story so far already give suspense on what will happen next. there's not a lot of manga that give much excitement while waiting for the next release. hopefully the next chapter will satisfy the excitement it had given. but still a good manga.

i'll be looking forward to this. i'll change this post after i read the next chapter.

5 chapters in.. by SomePerson on September 25th, 2009, 11:45pm

Just read 5 chapters of it.. and I must say this is pretty good.

The arts pretty, I really like it. But the thing that caught me the most was the development that happened in just 5 chapters. Usually many series tend to start out slow or drag out. The main character starts out as the typical weak protagonist.. but even now he is already developing into a guy with a stronger determination and will, and character development is so so so important.

Really good so far by KLGChaos on September 23rd, 2009, 12:49pm

I'll give it a 9 for now. I'd give it a 10, but Utsumi has this bad habit of really getting on my nerves. However, the story is nice and both Shou and Yuki are interesting characters. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Don't worry about the weakling.... by iamssjvash on September 22nd, 2009, 5:30am

Though he's horribly weak in the beginning, I feel he makes progress fast, and his later bouts of self loathing are far less annoying and mostly just comic relief.... By chapter 5 he shows severe improvement, and I love the art for this story, so compounded with the other unique characters, I'm going to ride this one out since it looks good....

drunkguy? by halberdian on September 5th, 2009, 9:55am

a friend just recommend this series to me, so I preview it at onemanga. aw shit! the art's soooo pretty. however, there is a shounen tag there, a gamble demographic for a good manga. cut them short, I check here and I found drunkguy synopsis and I scream 'WHAT? A WEAK HEARTED PROTAGONIST? OH BOY...' I've read many manga with this kind of character and not much of good things there, thus, I lost my enthusiasm. Though I try my best not to generalize manga, but showing that kind of character at the first chapter is just a turn off. Read seinen drunkguy, you'll got better chance of finding awesome manga you always want to download.

(I've read 1st chapter just now to add some credibility, and my opinion doesn't change)

I love it so far by dark mage on August 25th, 2009, 11:04pm

@bking, I agree with all your points and those are the same reasons why I think this is going to be a very good manga and I like the mysterious girl who helps the protagonist and I like the main dude because its just like what you said, it leaves room for alot of character development and fleshing out. Also, here the girs are not randomly chasing after the guy for no reason. Although I would like it if the main girl started to fall in love with the main dude and viceversa. I will give it a high rating based on the first chapter. I would like to thank the scanlating team for doing a great job on this and for giving us the oppurtunity to read this good manga in english.
Thanks

It's good! by bking on August 19th, 2009, 5:29pm

First I must say...the art is really beautiful and it's good that there isn't "ecchi" content. I agree with drunkguy. The main character is weak, pathetic, a crybaby and a coward. But that leaves room for some good character development (that doesn't happen to be in every manga). Furthermore, I like the comic relief that is caused by his misery. So I don't really dislike the main character...The story is kinda predictable.
But what I really like about this manga...are the female characters. They are unique, adorable and not like the female stereotypes in other Shounen mangas. Plus...I really like it that the thoughts of the female characters are shown as well. That's why I think both genders might take a liking to this manga.

Weak male protagonist by drunkguy on August 19th, 2009, 12:29pm

Not much to say yet about this except the main male character is ridiculously annoying, cowardly and weak. Art's good but the story revolving around the guy was like grating teeth.

Synopsis of 1st chapter:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I only skimmed through it but the gist of it seems he is the stalking type who's too scared to get near a girl he likes. Another girl comes in and tries to force him to go straight at his love interest. He runs away like a little bitch but eventually manages to crawl back with the other girl's provocation only to run away again.

If this series maintains a high score, I may give it another chance but for now, I'll be staying away from this one. I don't need more reasons to want to punch my monitor.
