Don't really like the Female MC but the story is great

For me, the story was good and enjoyable.. Plenty of romance and drama but the female MC made it bad.. I have to skip one or two chapter whenever the female MC interact with the male MC because I can't stand with her..
But not to worry, I only started to feel like that when the manga at last couple of volumes

"The first part was really good. it does downhill from there but it has its moments. I didn't like how they just introduced new characters just for the sake of plot devices. Mostly though THAT ENDING! wtf was that. I have to assume they had no idea how to end the series and just went with something they thought up. the way they resolved

the touro / yuki issue and seiji getting back together with yuki
was sooooo underwhelming after all that build up. and then the final issue to overcome was some random shit with her parents that we didn't hear about until the last few chapters. and then the time leap to 10 years in the future? didn't like it at all"

Worst main heroine ever...

This was just a long drawn out over dramatic pile of rubbish. The main heroine performs all kinds of pointless actions that make no sense, while contradicting her established character. What kills me is the male lead puts up with it all. Any other guy would of taken off for the hills. There comes a time to a time to cut your losses and move on but males in manga don’t know how to. The author just had the female doing nonsense in order to keep adding dram to the the plot.

I will give the writer credit about one thing. During one the the breakups, the male character was shown suffering the most realistic heartbreak I’ve ever seen in a comic. It was really surprising, because usually in manga, they move on very quickly. But when the story was over, I hated the main girl with a passion and I would’ve been happy if she just would’ve passed on. It’s just hard to get behind the character after she causes so much suffering to the others.

Also, when the whole thing is over with, you really have to wonder if she really liked him at all. She never did one thing in the entire series that showed that she cared for him. To me, that’s just not romance at all.

This series was super dramatic, and I honestly believe that a lot of the "issues" that the characters faced could have been solved much sooner with a simple conversation. But, meh... The MC is also a little idiot; just thought I'd throw that out there. So aside from those two things, there really isn't much I can say about this series that won't spoil things completely for potential readers other than this: if you're not a fan of drama or things being drawn out for days, I suggest you not read this one. If you don't mind, then do give it a try. I'm not really a fan of drama, at least, not the drawn out kind, so more parts of GE annoyed me than they probably should have.

Oh, and as far as who the MC ended up with, well, all I have to say is that if you read the one shot (which came before the series), the girl that he picks in the end is a no-brainer. This is especially considering the fact that the series literally just expands on the premise of the one shot. I never questioned who he'd end up with for a second, tbh.

Sasuga-sensei is a true master of love triangle. I applaud her ability to create a relate-able male lead despite being a woman herself and her incredible skills to integrate Shoujo elements into a Shounen based manga. But despite all my praise for her, I personally think that her manga is an abomination and the worst I've seen since School Days.

This manga is interesting in the fact that it attacks the audience's moral compass directly. It works its way to the borderline of NTR and gives a unique feeling of angst that you can't get anywhere else. It's that sick feeling to your stomach when you are instinctively repulsive about a topic. But at the same time, your consciousness is allowing yourself to continue reading because it's not actually bad enough to put you off. Girls love this kind of drama. That's why it is used over and over again in Shoujo manga.

Most girls value love more than loyalty. Unlike women, men value loyalty above love. Or rather, for men, loyalty itself is love. To be more specific, what women define as love is really lust and what men define as love is really loyalty. That's why most men like pure and honest girl while most women like the bad and naughty boys. But that's not to say that all men and women are like that.

I can see why a lot of people like GE. It's because some people out there like that kind of drama. I on the other hand, prefer the purity of love. That's why I can't bring myself to like GE.

So I started reading this and was really into the story for the first 40 chapters or so. Then... I don't really know what happened. Maybe I was just getting tired of the pace of the story. Maybe I just wasn't that invested in the characters. Heck maybe I just got tired of the cliches and misunderstandings that seemed to pile up. Whatever it was, I really couldn't stand reading another 100 or so chapters and so I just started skimming over page after page until I reached the end. For what it's worth the title of the story is at least accurate, the ending is indeed a happy one even if it does come across as a bit rushed.

One big issue I had is the same problem I have with many manga around this length, it just felt like the story should have been half as long. While a lot of the drama was actually compelling for the most part, cutting the story in half would have really helped to focus things and make the story feel like less of a slog to get through. I mean I can only hear about Utsumi complain so many times about his love problems that WE ARE ALREADY AWARE OF before I just want to slap the hell out of him.

The characters are a mixed bag. For example while I find Utsumi to be a little TOO spineless at times (especially for a guy who has women hanging all over him) I don't find him to be unrealistic, and he's surprisingly easy to root for. Yuki is also a smart and interesting character (when she's not acting dumb near the end...) and the two make a pretty cute couple when they're actually together. However some of the side characters like Rise, I don't even know why she's in the story. Sure Rise adds in a little bit of romantic tension, but Shou already fills that role and it's not like Utsumi even considers dating Rise for longer than a minute. It's like the mangaka had a good idea for a character design (because I like the way Rise looks to be honest) but didn't exactly know what to do with her other than halfheartedly making her another rival for Utsumi's love.

I'll admit, this manga does have a quality that made me want to keep reading and made it hard to put down at first. After a time though the story is content to just be as mediocre as possible, making up misunderstanding after misunderstanding and making you wish they'd just have sex and get it over with already. Frankly, I recommend reading the oneshot that came before the story proper instead of this because it's 150x shorter and I think is ultimately more satisfying.

An Interesting Story to say the least

I do like this manga a lot the main character has some really funny moments, the art is really good and the story is filled with Drama. honesty im starting to dislike harem manga now, cause i personally think all the girls deserve to win the guy cause they all had some pretty bad events happen to them and the are all good in there own way but in some harem "there can be only ONE!!!" lol..... well unless they do the harem ending but thats unlikely for realistic manga like this.

on a side not i wanted to reply to some of these comments, first of all she didnt really wanna get raped man[ she was just in a desperate attempt to keep the guy she loves and him being in a relationship with the senpai isnt a bad bad thing man shes a good character and its only fair to give him more experience like some others. Its funny how other manga love to potray these fake unrealistic "Totally pure and untouched girls" all the time and its okay to not always have that (cause the majority arent like that in this day and age. plus if people dont like drama or every thing that harem manga brings then dont read them if they gonna be exactly what you thought!
UPDATE:
Im just doing an ending update for this series with my original comment now that its over. Id say yea the ending was kinda expected and okay. I mean i did like the Senpai chick much more than the main chick Yuki (even though both are likable) and i was routing for the senpai to a point but i knew it would be Yukis win in the end it was obvious. So yea i accept it none the less however the only thing i really didnt like was the Senpai chick (Shu i think) ending up with her douche bag EX in the end. That sucked a lot for such a great girl. Yea i know that they were implying that he changed a lot but all we really saw was a giant ashole the whole time and we were expected to randomly except that random as development in the end. That sucked but this was still a good series
My first thought of this manga was: "Oh, ecchi and harem. The main character must be weak and suck." And it was true during the early chapters.
But then, halfway through, I just cannot stop clicking on the "next" chapter because I am really curious on how things turn out. There's a lot of misunderstanding and tears, and sometimes I can't help but want to slap the girls, but the point is, all those annoying conflicts will help them to be a better person.

The plot is simple, right? Afterall, there are many manga about high school life, romance, chasing after dreams, and building a future with a person you love. Still, within that simple plot, comes good story with good ending smile

I always love a story with character growth, and GE absolutely has that element. Of course, I'm not interested with the ecchi part, and the story itself doesn't have that much fanservice on the latest chapters, thanks to my relief ,lol. Welp, some might realise on how the story is kinda rushed, but it's acceptable for me.

I love how the characters find their own "good endings" in the end of the story. Yuki is a strong girl at first, but as we continue on with the story, it turns out that she has a weak and lonely side. On contrary, Shou is a cheerful girl but even she can gets emotional and hate someone.

It was a normal manga to me. But then, it suddenly turns to my favorite, and now, it is even in my "BEST" list. The epilogue wraps everything all. And I feel very satisfied of everything smile)

I think that it is a bit too long and thats why the story is a bit loose and rushed in the end but it really ends nicely. It is nothing to compare to any shoujo manga: I was smiling and sad while reading it. It has a bit too complicated with all those triangles and has some contraversal plot points but it is much more realistic and mature than what you usually read in school manga.

Anyway I recommend you to try and read it: I really like how MC grows and matures through the series.
