That title seems so wrong...Anyways, before I talk about the polls, a reminder that from July 2-5 is AnimeExpo in Los Angeles, CA. You can find instructions for finding me on this thread:

(Or if you know my in person...which at least 2 people who read this do...call my cell phone...)
For other news, we're hiring site coders (so we can get v2 out...finally...), so read the news post below for more details!
Now on to the poll:
This poll was submitted by our member CatzCradle. More of a shoujo one than anything else though...Just choose your favorite sound that indicates falling in love.
You can discuss this poll on our forums here:

And we really need more poll suggestions, so drop on by here:

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Other than the time/money spent enjoying it, does manga/anime influence your real-life decisions?
Choices:
Yes - votes: 4920 (45.2%)
No - votes: 5972 (54.8%)
There were 10892 total votes.
The poll ended: June 27th 2009
Sure, "no" was gonna win, but a lot of us still let our entertainment change us, either for the better or the worse...

not surprising the majority was no, but that there were still 4920 people that voted yes.
i wonder in what way it influences people's decisions?
and what the hell is kyun? haven't seen it in a manga before, but I hate it already.
Do but despise reason and science,
The highest of all human gifts -
Then you have surrendered to the Devil
And must surely perish. - J.W. von Goethe
Only time I can remember seeing/hearing it is in K-On!
Moe Moe, Kyun <3
Lose - Opposite of win, to misplace something/someone. e.g. To lose your way, to lose a fight.
Loose - Opposite of tight. e.g. To have a loose screw, to loosen a jar lid.
^ Not just scanlators, but also company documents are getting it wrong now!

Kyun sounds...unique, i like it. I vote for other, since I am not a fan for the manly sound of "thump", the dokidoki just doesnt seem like a sound of love, blush? wow too "cute" for me to handle.
For me it has to be a quick sound of effect to show how the character realised his/her feelings. quick, snip, simple and with a feminine "kyaaa" in it. you know what i mean guys? sigh quite hard to explain >.>

While 'doki doki" is in a lot of corny shoujo romances... I think it sounds silly. THUMP could be used for more than just love. It could be used for someone falling over, haha. Kyun is a cute sound effect, but it's weird for me too, because it's... well, not what I'm used to. So blush is my favorite.

i can't remember what manga it was but it was about a guy who fell in love with a jumper on the track team so he fought hard to become a great sprinter and got her. i liked how he felt good for trying to become great at a sport so i kind of did the same and although i didn't get the girl :/ i became a soccer/track star, happy i did it too although so much time lost training.... w.e it's fun in it's own way

yeah 🙂 , funny how this great manga with a not so pleasing ending, except with the little accident which i thought was a great twist that no other manga has the guts to do affected my life so much.
