doujinshi could also mean, that the book was not published in a magazine, but the author published it on their own. I don't know what rules are there for web comics, but I guess they are also under some publisher. So if there is someone who is doing this on their own without a publisher, it's a doujinshi. So it can be original too.

The MangaUpdates definition of doujinshi is anything that is derived from another work or series. For MU, there is no such thing as "original doujinshi"

Realize that this definition does not apply outside of MU
