I finally learned about what Invisible Children is and who the Kony dude person is.
Thanks, Papa!
Love,
Pika.
For the record, this wasn't any sort of indoctrination attempt, just a logical explanation of the phenomenon. I generally support idealists, but I'm far too much of a realist to see this as a truly effective means of circumventing certain principles of international law.
It's not really about "robbing money" though. We're talking about an overly optimistic nonprofit's activism scheme, it's not really a scam.
Today I learned that Niccolo Ammaniti is a terrifyingly good writer. I should have guessed, honestly. I adore Italo Calvino, and titles like The Leopard and Zeno's Conscience have long been favorites. I guess I just need to read more Italian literature.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

I learned about how people are ruining the ecosystem, and how we are all going to die.
Oh, and that Crème brûlée can taste like a piece of heaven...yum.

The amount of information you can cram onto an 8.5" by 11" paper is amazing. 🤣

Quote from Cherelle Ashlee
I learn that people put so much emphasis on insignificant things (i.e the kony 2012) I mean this guy have been abducting children for 20 years for sexslaves and soldiers and now after 20 years you want to put a stop to it?
[snip]
Anyway, I learned that some people will forever be lazy dickheads who refuse to help keep the kitchen clean even when you have flat inspections and you could be charged cleaning fees because the stove has so much caked on grease that it's a health and safety hazard. I'm really tired of the state of our kitchen and having to clean up after my stupid flatmates.

i learned that if you don't sleep for enough days the whole world start shaking, and it's really hard to type (i had to delete the whole sentence a few time)
It's, strangely, hard to know if you are making any sense at all.

🤣
I'm laughing because I suffer from the same problem.
We fail our inspections quite often (we get another chance if we fail though). Nobody cares anymore. You clean our kitchen and within the next 2-3 hours, it'll just go back to how it was. Bottles of beer everywhere, dirty dishes, the oven is gross, the hobs are gross (it took me and another flatmate of mine over an hour to get the grease of that thing once), so yeah, don't worry you're not the only one that has to deal with shit flatmates. Do they keep you up at night by slamming doors, playing loud music and getting drunk every other day too? XD
I learnt that lesson about my flatmates a while ago. Lazy and inconsiderate. I still get along with them overall though.
Never procrastinate. it's not worth it 😔

But if it makes you happy to win on the internet, have at it.

They're actually surprisingly tolerable in pretty much every other respect (we had a girl like that living with us but she changed flats months ago, thank god). They tend to keep the noise down too, although the girl in the room opposite me spends hours on Skype a few nights every week and she always gets really screechy and hysterical, her annoying laughter reverberates through the whole flat. Anyway, in the end we did fine on the inspection although we're getting charged for a dent in our toaster. No idea how that happened, it wasn't me so I don't really want to have to contribute.

I'm surprised you haven't heard about him. I can't seem to go anywhere without seeing someone share the video or making a joke about it. Here.

Don't smile at a monkey or chew gum in front of them. Showing your teeth is threatening to them and the motion of you chewing agitates them. Going to visit a primate research center for school when I have a deep seeded fear of monkeys... 😢

Not for all monkeys.
Showing teeth means surrendering and playfulness for some species.
They don't have smiles you see.
