If you put Korean food in your hot car for 10 minutes, you're going to have a bad time. Smells like farts.

Today's the only chance to see a blood moon lunar eclipse for the next 18 years... and, naturally, it's cloudy where I live. 🙁

The more time I spend doing brain training exercises and not studying for my exams, the more stupid I become.

Back to the Future 2 happened today. At 4 pm to be precise so we only have the past now...

(The setting of Blade Runner is November 2019 so my "favorite" future is still upon me.)

Yeah. I was just gonna write: "Today I learned that I'm living in the future." ^^

That Quebec voted less than 20% for the Bloc and that they voted for a governing party (Liberal, Trudeau). Which is historical for Canada

I learn that there were...

Man-eating ants. That if there were thousands and millions of them were together even an elephant will be swallowed easily

  • different kinds of miasma some lethal and some are not
  • witches curse can be lift-up but then it will backfired in the witch side (who cast the spell) and that there are two kinds of curse - the everlasting kind which will from gens to gens and some just common that just ain't last forever.

all from a certain mangas that i just read recently
😁

I predicted in our movie thread that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will become the biggest movie of all time if inflations isn´t counted and that can´t be argue anymore. Just look how much money can be made in one single day and more importantly in pre-sales!
Even i am floored to learn these numbers and i listen to about half a dozen Film/TV industry podcasts every week. I can´t be the only one to find this fascinating. Right?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stormed the box office and walked away with an estimated $238 million in its first three days domestically (including $57 million in Thursday night "previews") along with another $279 million internationally for a massive $517 million worldwide opening. Suffice to say, this shatters the domestic box office opening weekend record of $208.8 million set by Jurassic World earlier this year, but the record-breaking doesn't end there.
In just its first day of release Force Awakens brought in an estimated $120.5 million setting a new record for the largest Friday, opening day and single day. All on its own, that opening day was also enough to break the previous December opening weekend record of $84.62 million set by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in 2012. Additionally, the film now holds the following domestic records:

Largest Thursday Previews: $57 million*
Previous Record: $43.5 million (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2)
Largest Friday, Opening Day, Single Day: $120.5 million (estimated)
Previous Record: $91 million (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2)
Domestic Opening Weekend: $238 million (estimate)
Previous Record: $208.8 million (Jurassic World)
Highest Per Theater Average (Wide Opening): $57,571 (estimate)
Previous Record: $48,855 / 4,274 theaters (Jurassic World)
Top Opening Weekend for PG-13 Rated Film: $238 million (estimate)
Previous Record: $208.8 million (Jurassic World)
Top Holiday Opening Weekend**: $238 million (estimate)
Previous Record: $158 million (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire)
Biggest Weekend Overall (Top 12 Gross): $294.5 million
Previous Record: $266 million (June 12-14, 2015)
Biggest December Weekend (Top 12 Gross): $294.5 million
Previous Record: $259.9 million (Dec 25-27, 2009)
December Single Day: $120.5 million (estimated)
Previous Record: $37.13 million (The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey)
Widest December Opening: 4,134 theaters
Previous Record: 4,045 theaters (The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey)
December Opening Weekend: $238 million (estimate)
Previous Record: $84.62 million (The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey)
Fastest to $100 Million: 1 Day
Previous Record: 2 Days (Jurassic World)
Global IMAX Opening Record: $48 million
Previous Record: $44.1 million (Jurassic World)
Domestic IMAX Opening Record: $30.1 million
Previous Record: $20.9 million (Jurassic World)

It has a 95% (!) on RT and i now predicts that it´ll break the 3 billion mark. Especially if they managed to crack China in January which never saw a Star Wars premier in their cinemas. The industry standard setting way the films is marketed is worth a documentary alone. Hollywood history in the making folks!
Edit: China you suck... I now have to wait for a re-release to get Titanic of that undeserved podium.

I had a conversation about comic censorship today, as one does, and brought up Marvel´s Maggia who are absolutely not the Mafia (who also exists). "Obviously" 🤨 .
I assumed that the Comic Code banned them but research proved me wrong. Marvel only wanted to secure a copyright it seems but Zombies were banned till the 80s, so they had to make due with Zuvembies.
Read up on it here and Lol a bit. I hate the 50s and their nonsense laws...
(I technically knew this as i read the whole column, up to now, so i learned to re-learn.)

I looked through Wiki´s Protection policy page after seeing a new kind of (blue) lock on the "Gamergate" page. That page is a gem i tell you! That form of protection should come from the founder of Wikipedia himself and only allies to it, a related personal entry and the Arab–Israeli relationship 😲 . I have all sorts of problems with wiki but i can kind of see the point. Actually, it's about ethics in games journalism indeed. Poor wiki. All the internet "controversies" have started to take a toll on the site.
