This thread is for recent movies that are playing in the theatre. basically it's for people to converse about there opinions and reactions as releases are made to the public.
I think this would be great for recommendations on what to see when going out and just blabbing about what happens in general

To start off....

i just got back from the movies with a group of friends. we saw Transformers. frankly i found it to be a pretty decent movie. had a few cheesy moments but overall was pretty sweet considering the detail etc. i personally found it funny that yet again.

optimus prime gets his ass handed to him all over. plus the movie has a lot of comic moments where all you can do is laugh.

eh..i seem to have a headache so i will end it at that.

Ive heard it's been a great action movie. Even the really excitable kid said it was the best summer movie ever. But seriously, it's got shia lebouf and some of the best cgi I've ever seen. Hoping to see it this week

any body jazzed about hp5?

i saw the trailer only. it seemed interesting. i'm really curious how it turns out to be. anyone saw spiderman 3?

Spiderman 3 was aight, felt that it kinda ended in a rush though

Spiderman 3 was pretty good. Not what I expected it to be.

I'm not really hyped over hp5 because in my mind, the final book is by far overshadowing it. And transformers is stephen speilberg, so it'll probably be good no matter what it's about.

and ratatouille was a pretty decent kids' movie. too many this summer!

yeah it as freakin great. i seriously want a movie incorporating Gundams to be made sometime in the near future. of course an original story without emo stuff. but as a mech fan all you can do is hope after seeing something like that.

i haven't seen any of the HP movies. i need to start the series over book wise. read the first 4 in like 8th grade.

when he hit on any girl that walked by and danced i was laughing really hard. for that time frame in the movie, he was the shit!

I loved that part of the movie, but it made for a serious wtf moment.

venom turned him into the child of the rat pack and the emocity of today. He was the man, but i wanted to see some exploding heads or something

I don't know long I'll wait to see hp5, i really wanna see the third one after I finish this last book. Apparently Rowling said she had them hide pretty blatant hints to the 7th book in the PoA movie

But dude, the battle angel alita movie is supposedly coming out summer of '09.

Spielberg? It's a Michael Bay film. Same guy who was responsible for Armageddon and The Island.

Tranformers is a pure popcorn movie.
While the humor gave it some saving grace, the dialogue throughout was terrible cheesy.

It was amusing when Bay did a self wank during the meteor scene when the chubby kid yelled, "This is better than Armageddon!" Good God.

oh please, The War of the World was crap even with Stephen. I mean what kind of death ray melts people but not their cloth? It looks like a E rated video game with all the cloth popping out in the air.

HP5 is all sold out at the IMAX in NYC...so I guess I'll have to wait a bit to see it...unless they still have ticks in Stonybrook..? will have to look into it. I'm more of a book fan anyway.

The last movie I saw was Evan Almighty and it was super cute, great funny moments, and just really good for the whole family to enjoy. Should be rated G instead of PG, IMO.

Tranformers worked for war comes to earth and you are inbetween.
Next up is not much past a rat that can cook and I can't think of to much more to see as I have too much anime to wade through 😛

Don't think I want to see any of that. I do wanna see the one about the 2 kids. Like "Super Bad" or something. That one looks funny. I don't think I want to see the Chuck and Larry one cuz Adam Sandler annoys me (even though Billy Madison is one of my all-time favs).
There was sonething else I wanted to see, but cannot remember now.

I actually enjoyed Transformers and HP 5. It's entertainment, and served its purpose in my world. More of a "whee!!!" instead of an "whoa...awesome..."

Evan Almighty was kinda cheesy, but funny.
