So what happened to this series? I know it wasn't doing that well, but it's possibly on hiatus? But discontinued at the same time? Such a shame, the art is so beautiful but the story honestly wasn't that great.

It's Clamp. Clamp never gets cancelled anymore, so they themselves probably put it on hiatus to do some of their other bajillion unfinished manga (Cardcaptor Sakura - Clear Card Arc, xxxHoLiC Rei, etc.)

I think it says "Discontinued" only because Clamp is notoriously bad at returning/finishing manga on hiatus (X/1999, Drug & Drop, Clover (Clamp), etc.) But I don't think they've ever officially "dropped" a series they didn't finish--just put it on indefinite hiatus and never talked about it again.

Hiatus is correct here. Discontinued isn´t an egregious choice either, but don´t await any future signs of like. The same goes for X and so on...
Someone lastly need to learn that using the whole vocabulary @ ones will lead to verbal diarrhea in the database. Leave that box alone unknown sir or madam, it did nothing wrong to you...
