I hate the '' I must never kill anyone, ever '' hero.
I second that! If they weren't like that most issue would've been solved earlier on!

When a character runs away because of a awkward or embarrassing situation. Nobody does that, its just stupid and if a male does it, it looks gay
The bad guy fighting only because he wants to deny the reality of a situation. Something like, I will fight for my beloved even though shes the one that killed everyone I loved, and the people that are trying to help me are the enemies. They know that they are wrong but they foolishly delude themselves with the idea that its okay to deny reality
Tsundere girls
Useless people that say dumb shit like," ur helpless without me", Bullshit they always get in the way.
Guys that save the world, but cant confess to a girl. Thats just disgusting to me.
People that save the world, but still want to deny or turn down there destiny. Its too late for that
People who will let themselves keep getting hurt because a friend is brainwashed or betrayed you and started fighting u. That is just too dumb just restrain them or simply knock them unconscious. Theres nothing wrong with fighting a friend or family.
Female that are talented or strong, but are useless in the manga. Just stick to ur talents and stay out of the way. Yes Im talking to u Orihime and Sakura.
Little kids that get saved by the good guy but are call him meanie because there evil/monster friend that tried to killed them was defeated. Where are the parents to those annoying ass kids, they need a good beating for that.
When ur close friends or family betray u because of something as trivial as a break-up. Im mostly talking about Kimi iru no machi
People who try to fight fairy in a death match. Why there is no honor in killing
Naive heroes who think nobody is going to die in a war or a dangerous battle
People that think u will turn into monsters if u kill the bad guy that killed millions. If thats the case then all soilders would be evil. Its stupid logic because theres always a bad guy that turned good, even though they killed many.
Girls in manga that hit u because u saw there panties or another part of there body. Its almost always there fault so why are they hitting the victim.
Little girls that say," u are so echii" Little girl aint nobody trying to see u so leave, get out of the manga right now!!!
There are too many scenerios where a guy lives alone because of the parents work overseas or on a long trip
In harem mangas when the guy is obviously in love with the first main character girl shown. But the others try to force him to chose making him seem indecisive. Greedy girls only did that because they know he is too nice too reject them, even though they all know who he is in love with. Thats why I was glad when Tskune from Rosario+Vampire 2 made it obvious he was in love with Moka.
When a bunch of guys try to talk to and eventually try to rape or molest a girl in a public area like a beach. That doesnt happen, they would at least wait until most of the people and authoritys went away
I also hate any signs of pedophilia or incest
Girls that think its okay too play with eachother boobs and other lesbian stuff. It is way too common in the mangas for the girls to think its okay to act lesbian but that doesnt make u one.
Girls that get offended when u say they have small boobs. In reality there are plenty of guys that will pursue a beautiful flatchested girl
When a child is way stronger than the adults with tons of experiences and has master his techniques
When a person falls onto another person in a perverted position or in a kissing position. Lame and overused.
When two people are about to kiss but are always interrupted. If its only once its okay but multiple times is frustrating. Also when a random girl or guy that has a crush on one of them starts yelling at them and lecturing them. Thats stupid its not sex its a kiss, its natural so grow up
Lame misunderstandings like people walking into the room, right as u fall in a perverted position with other person
These are most of my I cant stand, I used to be able to tolerate some of them but now I cant stand them

I hate it when the main guy is UGLEHHH! It just gets to me when the guy is completely EWW, and the girl likes him because she values what's on the "inside". I can deal with the weak protagonist, but if they are made to be FUH-GLEH and WEAK! Then it makes me mad... Some examples are Mugi from Pastel, the main guy from Rizelmine, the main guy from Happy World, Kei from Onegai Teacher, OMG THE LIST GOES ON! But what's funny is that, I STILL read these mangas, AND they are still great...
Edit: I can stand the -plain/normal- guy, but not if the guy is DRAWN UGLY or has that weak body+glasses+straight/short hair.(Like the main guy from Let's Go Play!, or Kei from Onegai Teacher)

I bake that in a cake and eat it cause this grinds my gears o___o and the cake must lubricate my grinding gears. XD Yeah I don't understand that or the I can't fight girls cause they're girls 😐 I just wanna see a guy punch a girl in the face. (i.e. in Wolf Guy Wolfen Crest some middle school girl got punched right in the face and I laughed so hard I started crying.) I also don't get the...my weapon powers up so it becomes bigger effect. I don't think it's the worst but I don't get it. Like imagine standing in a hallway and they power up and their sword gets too big and it's hard to swing it in said hallway(fail).

The enemy's fortress is impenetrable but actually, it's located right smack in the middle of a city or near a location where there're still civilians there, which defeats the purpose of making it hidden. Even then, defense is low and most of the enemy soldiers or troops or guards are low-level, even though the enemy is known for being intelligent, strong and powerful.
I remember someone commenting a bit of that on some manga(I was thinking of picking it up again) and that really reminded me of so many shounen titles. Or rather, so many action titles. 😛
The manga claims it's an empire but it doesn't even know how empires are actually structured. smacks head Where's the hierarchal command? The idea that there're many, many groups acting on behalf of the monarchy or whoever's in-charge? Especially, you know, when the lead protagonists have the ability to run about just anywhere they wish to, without encountering guards/other people who may or may not know their identity/reputation? At least The legend of sun knight, a shoujo, didn't screw over that idea so much. Or Tower of God for now. Or The Emerging Story of Mismarca.
All empires have differing factions and sighs it sometimes infuriates me when everyone behaves like they're all happily getting along forever. Or when there's absolutely no friction between the religious orders and the monarchies. Or the manga try to present friction in between the groups but they don't realise that in politics, they'll pretend to get along in front of certain others and then, take a bit of time to make their moves. And even then, even the "pieces" being used are probably some hapless soldiers or staff, which can't be traced directly back unless the protagonist is well-aware of the politics and blah blah. Though this only applies to the more skilfull manipulators.
The worst offenders of the above 2 points aren't limited to shounen but also every damn genre or demographic.
When the protagonist is supposedly super smart but the enemy is smarter. And yet, for some stupid reason, the enemy lets him get away even IF they're well-aware of his abilities and so on, for a long time. 🙄
Or the protagonist has a hidden super power and everyone but the enemy knows it, even though the evidence is right SMACK in their eyes.
Or the protagonist is sooo smart, he can think of every tactic possible and blah blah blah... but he lets his friends get killed, all for the sake of creating drama. Unless, he's got some psychiatric issue that intervenes with his logic and so on...
The idea there're limited resources, yet, everyone uses up almost everything, creating an even more massive shortage of resources. Still, they continue to fight... and fight... using up even more resources, which leads to the question: are the resources actually in short supply or not?
A ruler is presented as being brutal but in reality, his stand and objective wasn't that ruthless as compared to the alternative of letting everyone die. However, he's branded as evil and so that forces his hand to act.
Only knowing the secondary reason why countries go to war: resources, politics and territorial disputes, etc. But war can only happen if you've got a lot of money and then, a lot of troops at hand, sustainable population, decent command structure, good weapons, etc. Even then, unless the emperor or whoever is insane, there must be something of even greater worth in the country you're invading, to compensate for all the expenses. And also, not knowing that the worth of a "resource" can degrade or increase over time or there're many factors which can render a resource worthless.

I just noticed that way too many manga use the Ouroboros. Idk whether they think it gives a mysterious or cool element to the manga but it's really overused >>

I was thinking about the "everyone needs their friends to do anything" but then always fights by himself cliche.
But, after reading that post about the Ouroboros, I remembered another...why does everybody seem to use ragnarok in their stories? I get that it's cool. End of the world, good versus evil, etc, but why does it have to show up in every damn story that I read? Why not switch it up? Throw in an Armageddon every once in a while (that's a Greek word...just as cool). Or, better yet, just make up another name.
Ah, I do have another one....it's more of a manga in general cliche, but why does every westerner have to have 5 "L"s in his name? I understand that it is a sound that is not found in Japanese, but we do have 25 other letters. I, myself, do not have a single L in my name. In my entire family, I can't think of anyone who has more than one L in their entire name (first, middle, or last, including maiden names).

if i remember correctly...there were multiple references to armageddon in ai-ren...i agree on it being a cool reference but sadly i dont think ive seen it being used in any other manga
The spiky-hair, well, any manga or anime...

What I hate most about shounen is how the most powerful in the manga is a short unattractive guy! Be easy on our eyes if your gonna make the manga have 200 volumes.
Secondly harems!! Oh how much I hate harems and wimpy guys who cant make up there minds and end up friging people over because your stupid (Kimi No Iru Machi) <_<
Thirdly, the ones when middle school boys are in gangs and they dont care about school. I mean flipping drop out and leave us be. I am tired of seeing yanki manga is overused!!
Fourthly, manga where the main lead always think that fighting solves any situation. I mean what happens when you grow up? dont you want a family. What I definally hate about this type of shounen manga is their are girls who like them alot but the only thing they can think of is fighting!! I mean are they monks or eunuchs or something. Those types of shounen is boring, repetitive and unappetizing. Some of them are: Bleach, yu yu hakasho, dbz, naruto, hajime no ippo. Go get a girl!! gezz
Last but not least, the girls who think they are strong enough, always calling people weak and useless but always is the damsel in distress! I mean that cringe my skin and as I see that it turns me off! (i.e sakura, )

I feel about the same as you, I would love a harem where your not just focused on the girls but can also get excited for the guy every now and then. Only ones I can think of are mahou sensei negima! (The most badass 10-year-old ever) and toaru majutsu no index (I just love the heroic moments just before the right hook that knocks you back into reality).

I also noticed that on a bunch of battle-oriented shounens, they give names to the random moves and stuff but when you look up most of the names it has absolutely nothing to do with the move the character used... So I'm assuming it's just used to make it sound cool lol.
Oh and how the MC always has to get beaten near death before beating someone, even if it isn't the boss... and somehow he goes on to defeat the boss after he was almost killed in his other fights.
