I would be a shape shifter. cause when you can choose any shape you want, you wouldn't need to have just wings and you could change anything about you. so amazing!!!!!!!

A dragon. Specifically, either the type of dragon that can shapeshift into a human and back (Stupid humans chasing me all the time....), or the type that can cloak itself in camouflage so they can't see me.
The best part about being a dragon, aside from flying, is that there is no degradation of mental capacity. If anything, Dragons are generally portrayed as smarter then humans. Werewolves/Vampires have to deal with their instincts, and Mermaids don't have any weapons to fight off sharks (If you could be a legit monster, who would want to me a humanoid one, anyway?) a fairy would be all right, I guess. They're always incredibly vain and in love with themselves, though... Dragon for me, definitely.

I'm going to be totally unoriginal and say either dragon or vampire.

Dragon - one which can shape shift into a human for pure convenience, I mean - how many large unexplorable caves do you find where I can live in peace? My reasons are

1. Flying is awesome
2. Dragons are always potrayed as being highly intelligent, if not prophetic, beings.
3. Dragons are usually rich
4. The have raw destructive power
5. They are damn near impossible to kill.

Vampire - my reason are thus

1. I'm already nocturnal
2. Vampires usually have long lives, giving me time to do everything I wanted but giving me the ability to end it all when I get fed up with living (living forever has to get tiresome)
3. Vampires are strong so they kick ass in a fight.
4. Vampires are beautiful/seductive, so they usually get what they want. The idea or charming those around me is kinda appealing.
5. I really don't have a problem with killing people who deserve to die (mass murderers, paedophiles etc - I'd be like the supernatural Dexter. )
   Only downside of a vampire is the no sun thing. That sucks.

There are other supernatural creatues that appeal, but they're not what I consider monsters. As a side note, I'm loving the effect 'Supernatural' has had on this thread, lol.

The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.

A Medusa, half woman, half snake and no men can look me in the eyes cause if they do, they'll turn into stone 😛
