It doesn't matter how big an image is.
It's the number of characters that is USED to have that picture in there. That includes the BBCODES.
First you have the img tags. And then the picture url itself.
Those are the ones that take up the characters.

I'm also against this. Increased character limit means more stuff to put in.

Look at khmershinobi current sig or Shadowknight's previous one(sorry for using you guys as an example ^^) they're large enough as is and you wanna add more?

I think that this would help out most people requesting an increased character limit. Also, it would be good to limit the total height for all images in the signature, which is why most people are apposed to this suggestion in the first place. Now, this is not to limit how many images one could have, because it would still allow members to have a small total sum of pixels with multiple images. MasamiAkane is a perfect example with her 3 images only adding up to 104 pixels; therefore, it is possible to keep things complicated but only taking up a small portion of the signature.

So, I think this would be a good middle ground for both sides, but I don't know how difficult it would be to implement it. If it is, this could be something good for the v2 of the site.

I can't post my HQ nudes in private convoes when 350 pixels is the limit. Argh, I just drooled a little.
But I guess that is okay. Character limit only bothers
me when I am trying to fit a huge ass URL.

This! That was more or less what I was going for. I don't think my current sig is too big, but one more line and I'm at the limit. This is mainly because I use too many of the BBCodes.

Yeah, since width is limited for obvious reasons, might as well set a limit to the height as well. O_O
